Aye..I've started yet another topic....

I've been ordering from a place called ChaosOrc's superstore for close to a year now, however recently their shipping time has been ridiculous (1 1/2-2 1/2 weeks) which doesn't sound terrible from a surface level until you consider I paid extra for Priority Mail....and with normal shipping it takes even longer.

I've gotten sick of having to send them messages asking for tracking/asking when they shipped/etc (plus the wait kills me, I'm an impatient guy) so I was wondering who all you Dakkaites...Dakkatites...Dakkanites....err....Dakka people order from, what their discount is, and what there average shipping time is

Thanks,
-Josh

The warstore is the most reliable - period - as they are camped right to a huge distribution (if not own, or is owned by them).

The fastest, safest, and largest trade market on the net.

Don't know about by mail, but I go into the Dark Sphere store, and they are good in the shop. Their prices are excellent.

Bitzbarn - Has better prices than warstore on some bitz, has large selection and a ton of bitz on sprue options. same 20% off deal for box sets

Apocabitznow - Just ordered some bitz from them this week, should get here today. Advantage is they are located in Virginia so faster USPS delivery for me. They do the same 20% off boxes. Selection is limited on bitz.

I've been ordering from miniwargaming.com lately. They're Canadian and I prefer to buy domestically so I don't have to worry about customs snafus. Plus, they're kind of local and put out some good videos, so it's nice to support them.

For Australia, nothing beats Maelstrom.

I also order non-GW things from TheWarStore.com, and have used ChaosOrc and Bitz & Kitz to order more eclectic items.

I order from Maelstrom - in fact, I'm waiting for an order to come in on Tuesday after the ANZAC holiday on monday.

Writing internet fiction is kind of like throwing out messages in bottles into a churning sea composed entirely of messages in bottles, the chances of of your message getting noticed and someone being sent out to rescue you is punishingly slim. But every once in a blue moon, someone who owns a big boat made of money finds your message and agrees to let you ride on his big boat made of money as long as you keep making messages for him.

Because Matt Ward didn't write our Codex. Otherwise we would have had Scything Tyrants with Scything Nidfists that can re-roll re-rolls and that can have a bodyguard of 10 Scything Guards and a Scything Prime that could ride in a Scything Pod. Or something to that effect.

No fellow waylanders, eh?

They give a 25% off on all their warhammer goods, and very low shipping cost for being overseas ($10 for a gigantic order I placed, two beastmen battallions, 4 gor boxes, a giant, Terror of Arnor Model)

Its also more easy to buy from compared to Thewarstore, in its format.

Only downside I can see that it takes a bit to get over here from the U.K

I've been burned twice by their slow shipping when I needed stuff for tournaments. It gets there just not when you need it.

I switched back to warstore after the 2nd time.

Ditto.

My Dark Heresy books arrived on Thursday, but for some reason my Trygons are taking longer. Hopefully Tuesday.

Their discount isn't bad, but it's no where near as good as Maelstrom.

And as far as easy to navigate? I had to go to the second page of 'Troops' under 'Space Marines' to find the Tactical Squad. The first page is all Pig Iron heads. That's 'confusing', not 'easy'.

I always work through Maelstrom now.

problem is that they can be from anywhere between 7 days and 3 weeks for it to arrive depending on if out of stock items are needed/slow in sorting out the order.
It's not usually a problem though as I always have other stuff to fill the time.

As predicted, the 36 Hormagaunts I'd been waiting on arrived yesterday from Maelstrom. Now that I'm confident with their order service and delivery time, I'll be ordering my 2250 Dark Elves army

Good on you Maelstrom, a 4% tiered discount on top of the standard 10% discount. With the savings I'm actually buying more for less.

There are a couple of chaps I buy from on eBay fairly regularly.

War Is Here is good for various lots of items and Lazarus Games tends to have a descent variety of older stuff. Hoard O' Bitz I've used for bitz orders a few times as well.

You can probably find folks a little cheaper on eBay, but they don't mind shipping to Canada (which some folks are averse to doing for some reason), their descriptions are accurate, they package well and I've never had a problem. I'm generally happy with what I get and there is something to be said for a wonderfully boring eBay experience where you pay for something and it shows up.

I also make is a practice to buy from the Gamer's Lair in Barrie. I play there, so fair's fair and the owner stocks the paints I like using.

If it's over 15 but less then $30, then I get from GWS directly. That's pretty rare though.

Anything else, i get from Warstore primarily. I have occasionally seen good prices on Amazon though - I just got another Ironclad Dread today off there for 33% off +$4 shipping.

I've been trading in stuff I haven't used in years to Noble Knight Games (nobleknight.com) for store credit. They're about an hour and a half away from me, so I can order a crapton (about 20lbs worth) and it is at my door in less than 24hrs. I could just drive there and make a roadtrip out of it, but the old warwagon would eat up more than $10 in gas.
