i want to do real look clumps of trees , for cheap . and as i get older i want more real looking trees . sorry gw plastic palms , arent cuttin any more . i went to my local craft store ac moore . i bought hard board ovals . some dried moss foilage . sticks from out side . i hot glued them sanded . painted the sand . dry brushed three coloers , then flocked and then glue foilage on top . looks great and it just blocks a little bit of the table . i know its not good for manveuring troops or fanasty regiments through but its good for histrical and fun games. were your going for the lotta cool terrain look . i would never do these on big bases . so they dont get in the way . enjoy the pics.

Very cool looking. I bet a table with a bunch of these would look very nice.

I agree, very nice looking and budget friendly. A FLGS I frequent went the same route as you did on one of their tables. They however used foam on the top of the trees and then used the foliage on that, just to save the foliage for more projects I assume.

Those look great. The only thing I wonder is would I be able to get some of this moss I have at work (I work at a family-owned pet store) that isn't quite dry but isn't still alive either. Is your moss artificial or is it real?

I've always wanted to make nice looking trees but I don't have the money to buy those often expensive flocking materials that they use in most of the other tutorials. I can get this kind of moss pretty easily/cheaply if it is the real kind.

An alternative to moss that I use is the plastic scouring sponge things, teased out

pack of 6 or so costs less than a quid
