Had my first proper game a day ago, and while the webway portal was amazing and served perfect, my troops operated like pre school children in a gang war.
Need some help, how should I use them to get the most out of their spikey wrath? I have splinter cannons cause they are assault4. I wish to keep them in the teams.

I think darklance 5 man raider spam would be where the money is.

And whilst you're pointing and shouting at the boogeyman in the corner, you're missing the burglar coming in through the window.

Well, Duh! Because they had a giant Mining ship. If you had a giant mining ship you would drill holes in everything too, before you'd destory it with a black hole

You think so? I find raider squads tend to die on objectives.

Raider squads are the best way to use warriors.

There are currently two schools of thought on the best use of raider squads. Both are very competitive. The way I use warriors is 5 man in a raider with Dark lance and horrorfex, I will add blasters if points permit.

This is often referred to as a sniper boat. The basic idea is to use long range firepower to cripple the opponent, and then when he gets near fly 24" across the board to safety and repeat. If they have lots of long range fire power set up with a couple squads in a forest and use the empty raiders as cover for the full ones. Remember you can shoot from any point on the raider with the mounted warriors.

The second method is Thor's favorite, 5 warriors with splinter cannons, blaster on a raider that has a horrorfex. Since I personally don't use them often why don't you read his tactica about them. You can find a link in his signature.

If you don't own enough raiders the best warrior squad you can run is 2 X DL in a 10 man squad. Just hide them in a bush and shoot. Even if your only shooting marines they will make their 100pt up before the game ends.

If your footslogging squads are acting like pre-schoolers in a gang fight though, clearly there are issues with them as well. Raider squads shouldn't die on objectives because you should never be on objectives before the last turn of the game. Warrior squads shouldn't act like pre-schoolers because they should be able to act as gunline support to your more potent elite options.

I will generally agree with Clthomps though I will note that the exact number of men he quoted can vary depending on your goal/needs/preferences. But at the most general level I agree with the following statements;

Raider squads are better then footslogging squads.
Gunboats (Raider squad Blaster & S.Cannon) are more adaptable then mini snipers.
Mini Snipers (Raider squad Dark Lance) are excellent anti-mech options.
The Sniper (2 Lance footslogging) are indeed the best footslogging option.

I agree with Clthomps; recommendation of looking over my tactica (link is in the sig) and also suggest maybe you show off your army list - as there are lots of ways to use Warriors well, and it can vary on what their best use is depending on the rest of your list.

Thanks guys! I will post an army list as soon as I find the one I was using. It's tough getting someone to give you honest feedback without calling me a noob. Yes i'm new to the game, and thank you both.
