Subject: Drop Pod Wolves worth it?

Mutilatin' Mad Dok

I need a little Advice before I put too much money into Drop Pods. So I am going with a new army along with my Orks. Space Wolves and I got the battle force. Each drop pod in the lists I am running in the leagues we are doing has at least one guy with a flamer in it. My tactic with them is to drop them as close to an enemy troop as possible and flame and shoot them with my bolters.
But so far I Never actually kill anything. The others I got are what I call A wolf lord with Thunder Hammer and Storm shield which works alright so far I guess. Then the others are Wolf Guard with x2 Wolf Claws. So I drop them behind a Tank or maybe behind someone. I do not think I can call them Terminators since the model itself does not have the Big Bulky Terminator Armor on the model itself.
I also just figured out that Space wolves can also have 4 HQ Choices and not only can Bjorn not be in one there is another option I did not know about. I never once considered psychic powers because I thought they were kinda stupid but a guy with old Metal Wolves told me about drop podding the psychic guys and using this one power...( I forget the name.) Where you draw a line from him and all the way accross the board and everything it touches gets removed from the board and taking four of them and dropping them into the game and using that power to eliminate everything
that way is just broken.
I never tried it cuz I only got a battle force and no money but it sounds like something that could work out very nicely. Drop some Troops with those guys and the rest maybe like have Dreadnoughts
and give them shooty stuff and I might have a good army.
But from what I see people just put like 5-10 guys in a tank and run them up with that like most Nurgle Space Marines armies and from loosing most of my games so far against Necrons, Orks and Chaos Marines. I am starting to think drop Pod is not such a good idea.
Am I Wrong? Or DO I just Need More Zogging Dakka for my list?

Well, the guy played it wrong, it's not the whole length of the table, it's limited to 24", in addition, there is an I test involved and affects only certain units.
He be using his home brewed Jaws of the World Wolf.
He is a cheater...no amount of mistakes could make that up IMO.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Or it isn't being relayed clearly; the OP has limited knowledge of his space wolves. =p
@OP: You're referring to the Runepriest, and JotWW is a powerful psychic ability. It cannot hurt vehicles however, so you'll need to be able to crack open a few shells before casting it. Living Lightning is another popular choice; STR7 unlimited range.
Drop pods are viable. Rather than flamers, why don't you consider putting your drop pods to anti-tank use? Put Logan inside with some melta-gunners and a chainfist or a combi-melta or two? Give them tank-hunter, and you suddenly have a unit that can deep strike right next to any vehicle and melta it with tank hunter.
I would agree that deep-striking a flamer in a drop pod is a waste of a pod and the unit inside; this is a mechanized world, and you need to answer appropriately.

I see. Maybe I will keep the flamer for stuff like orks, Nids and other stuff instead.
Thanks for the advice. Your also right, I have done some reading in the codex but I still havent had wolves for very long. also its my first Space Marines as well.
