So for the pre-qualifying round I think I will play my dark eldar, I an juggling between wyche cult and this Kabal list. So far I think this list has the edge due to the massive amount of MEQ in my local meta-game.

A couple notes on the list, I had 9 extra points thats why the dracon has a trophy rack and haywire grenades. The basic plan is to leave the 2 sniper squads in cover and use their raiders to act as mobile cover for the assault boats / reavers. The remaining boats will stun / destroy any mech threats, while the ravagers and vect will finish off troops.

I'd ditch the jetbikes to beef up the wyches.

Don't know where you play but most tournaments around here don't let the nightmare doll work in 5th edition. Might want to cheack with the judge before hand.

I actually like a wych cult much better at 2500, right now I think you are at a severe disadvantage against hordes that properly space out models.

Salamander Marines 65-12-13
Dark Eldar Wych Cult 4-1-0
Dark Eldar Kabal 36-10-4

Larger wyche squads don't inflict more damage they just weather shooting better. The bikes are a great anti tank and soak up a good amount of fire (4+ invuln) that otherwise would be directed at the skimmers.

As for horde armies that spread out they wont be able to kill anything until they get into combat, and with only 2.5 hours they will only make it to turn 3 or less by the time the game ends, thats why you never see large horde armies winning major tourneys.

The doll will work since 'ard boyz uses RAW. The only reason people say it doesn't work is because of the WH FAQ , and I for one do not use other codex FAQ for my own (otherwise I would be ramming with skimmers...)

As for the wyche cult, I was considering running them but like I said at the beginning my meta is heavy MEQ so vect and the extra DL really come in useful.

Any other C&C?

The final round of 'Ard Boys, should you make it that far, is using the INAT.

Currently, the INAT states that the Nightmare Doll does nothing in 5th edition.

(Though, if I remember correctly, Yak said they were open to modifying that position.)

stick with the kabal against MEQ's-the Wytches tend to be shot to bits before they make it near the opponents gun line IMHO.

ere we go!ere we go!ere we go!ere we go!

95% of teens would have a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building. Copy and paste this if you are included in the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair, grab some popcorn, and yell, "JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!"

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I like the H.Fex on the boat with the Crucible, that's a clever thought. That said, your strategy seems to indicate you'll usually be off-loading these squads rightaway - with that as a concept why not get a H.fex on the last Raider? The Trophy Rack would be an easy drop for that.

I think the list looks as good as anything DE can put together for 2500 points

Clthomps:

Do you consider your list to be take-all-comers?

I stopped running kabal and switched to wych cult because there wasn't any formulation I could think of that would realistically threaten mechanized IG, or possibly even razorback spam SW. At 2,000 points, Spacewolves can have 19 missile launchers that can fire at 7 different targets....

Do you think you can comfortably tackle those lists? My feelings of inadequacy against them is why I changed things up.

My guess is that he feels the big advantage Kabal brings over Wych Cult is the Vect option for 4 Ravagers in the list. Whether or not one believes Vect can make a significant difference is another story.

Vect is the reason I went with kabal. He is a great shield for the rest of the ravagers, AV14 really seems to draw fire even though hes not much better than a standard ravager.

As for all comers, I don't have a razorback spam player in my area, and Meq IG will be a game of who gets first turn.

In this list I do have
17 DL
20 Blasters
11 Disintegrators
10 Horror fex (good catch Thor, I am dropping the Rack)

Parking Lot Guard at 2500 points - lets go with 8 chimeras, 2 hydra flak cannons, 1 manticore, and 4 vendettas.

Your blasters won't come into effect until turn2, meaning that statistically, you're gonna get 11 hits, 5 glance/pens. Presume one shaken, one stunned, one weapon destroyed, one immobilized, one wrecked.

4 chimeras are down, or maybe two chimeras and two valks - presuming that nothing you fired at is getting cover.

The return fire is probably going to kill 3-5 raiders.

Turn2: You've got 12 dark lances now, and in all likelihood have only actually wrecked/exploded a single vehicle; and now you get to go to work with your blasters up close, but you're playing catch up.
----------------------------
I switched to a wych cult because with haywire grenades, I can make that first turn count for more. If mech IG goes first, you're boned either way if its a good list. If they don't go first, chances are you're going to roll one 12" wych power, and you can always give Lelith a second 12" power. Deploy sideways on your deployment zone, and on turn one, rotate and scoot 12", deploy out 2", fleet D6, and assault 12". Chances are you can hit several vehicles each, and the same glancing/shaken results are good enough to keep them from firing back at your raiders.

Were you factoring in Vects Bs 6, and the 9 other dis shots?

16 DL shots at Bs 4 =11 hit
1 DL shot at BS 6 = 1 hit
9 dis shots at BS 4 on vehicles= 6 hits (only 3 targets)
2 Dis shots at BS 6 on the same vehicle vect shot = 2 hits

Total: 11 DL hits on seperate vehicles, 1 DL and 2 dis on another, 2 Dis hits on 3 different vehicles
