Hi all.

I've got an interesting question about modeling. One of my fellow forum users submitted a couple of pictures of BM with KFF and Burna. The interesting part is that he didn't want to cut the figure and depicted burna using a decorative grot-model with gas ballons and some burna-gun. He says that there were no problems with judges/opponents during his latest tournament. After all it follows the spirit of the ork codex about BM grot helpers and decorative models. =)

So what do you think? Is it ok, regarding WYSIWYG? Would you agree, that such Mek counts as having a burna?

here are the pictures:

For me it would depend massively on how he used it, example i would ask him to measure the flame from the actual mekboy, not from the grot and aslong as he kept it out of the way of combat, shooting etc.

If he used it like i mentioned i would have absolutely no problem with it

For sure. The model is purely decorative, just like ammo-runts and grot oilers and other grots/squigs in the codex. So the template would be measured from BM itself and grot wouldn't provide cover or smth.

I think it's a great, creative idea. Just declare it at the start, and like Lewisimo said, measure the shot from the Big Mek. If anyone really complains, maybe lay the grot on the base in front of the Mek? Or even just glue him onto the base in that spot.

I would be absolutely fine with it!

In order to appease the angry tournament type, you could move the Mek back on the base a little and place the Grot in front of him?

Beautiful painting by the way.

That is an awesome idea, I have been tempted to cut my Big Meks wrench off to give him a burna this idea is way better! I will steal this thanks

Yea its totally legal in my eyes. Grots like how that guy is using them, or basically just there to look good. You move them out of the way when they get in it, they dont use vehicle space slots so on and so on. As long as he did all the shootin from the mek there would be no problems at all. Pretty cool idea really, that opens alot of WYSIWYG on many different minis. I might take some of those ideas too

I think it's a terrific idea and I would have absolutely no problem with it. I know the pains of HQ choices (as I play Chaos) and often find myself making a new one for the game I am about to play. Needless to say, I have a lot of HQ models to represent the various options. I think your friend has the right idea. This way he can swap weapons on his Big Mek without actually having to convert metal and without having to spend a ton of money on HQ models.

That is genius, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it.

These models look really really good! So I suspect no one will have a problem with them.

Good point.

I do this with attack squigs, no one's complained yet.

I think it looks great & can't imagine anyone, with the exception of TFG, having any problem with it.
I also have to add that had I seen this idea several months ago I would have stolen it,I spent several frustrating hours trying to figure a way to attach a killa kan burna onto my Big Mek.
Again, very nice work and a great concept.
