I enjoy the charaters, there big eyes gives me peace...and the Japanese anime sounds so...epic...I wish I could talk that way....
2nd Question:
Which one do you like the most?
I like the manga better because it's the one that's always there...There's some japanese writting in it, sometimes.
AKIRA (both the catastrophically epic manga and the movie)
Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Spirited Away
...
They are stylish, and are in a league of their own. Spirited Away and AKIRA I do not even consider anime, rather, it's animation from Japan, they are also HUGE influences on my art and career and school choice. I also prefer them all in Japanese....it helps me keep mine brushed up, and it sounds better. Most dubbed anime is the characters describe what they are going to do, and what they are doing.
Battle Angel Alita is a fantastic manga, pretty much the only one I like.

Tend to prefer Anime at the moment purely because it is generally easier for me to follow, especially when my energy levels dip.
Subbed over dubbed any day. Although some of the Ghibli films are dubbed with good actors. The majority of series sound dreadful dubbed.
Back to your question as to why, Lord.
probably for similar reasons to IG Urban - I like the Japanese Aesthetic and ceratin aspect of Japanese culture.
There is some beautiful work in the Manga drawings, which doesn't always translate to anime.
The graphics in Bakemonogatari are really cool but still waiting to see episode 15
I love some animes that I used to watch when I was younger, however I find it depressing that mentioning them to the Anime fans that I go to school with, they have no clue what I am talking about.
I LOVED Samurai X.
Such a touching movie.
I've sold so many armies. :(
Aeldari 3kpts Slaves to Darkness.3k Word Bearers 2500k Daemons of Chaos
It's also a full series that's pretty good as well Sometimes called by it's Japanese name Ruroni Kenshin. I've got the movie somewhere, but haven't got around to watching it.
I'm not sure what drew me to anime at first, it might have been how crappy normal cartoons were going as the good ones were becoming rarer and rarer. Not being able to stream whatever I want through the internet basically meant that what was on TV was it.
I don't think I like anime/manga by themselves. They are just another media like occidental comics, occidental animation or any real action movie. Ask me instead why do I like Naruto (manga), Claymore (manga) and Beck (anime) or why didn't I enjoy Gantz (anime) or Death Note (manga).
Being japanese or not is not important for me.
By the way, when I say (manga) or (anime) I mean that that's the version that I've followed, I'm not saying that there isn't a Gantz manga, for example. I know it exists but I haven't read it
I've been getting into anime a fair bit recently. Been watching Death Note and it's definitely worth my money. I'm not a fan of manga though, and I'd rather chew my own leg off than watch one of the 'cartoony' animes like Naruto.
I don't really like the animes where the big eyes/small mouth thing gets taken to extremes. That cutesey stuff just feels awkward.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.
Not been able to get into One Piece or Full Metal Alchemist.
I guess Naruto and Bleach are enough of the triumverate.
Well, 2 out of three ain't bad!
Get a tad bored with the fighting which can be very predictable in the sequence they take and their outcome.
Are they influenced or reference to computer games at all? They seem to progress through difficulty levels wth occassional levelling up then defeat the boss.
Been watching FMA Brotherhood recently, cause I am a anime fan!
Edit: Aww, they Filter anime fan? :(

there was a show called Mahoujin Guru Guru which was almost literally based in a videogame. It even shows the level and class of the main characters.
If you like Bleach, I recommend heckig out Yu Yu Hakusho. Bleach owes a lot (a lot) to this series iirc.
Both Anime and Manga, it's like any other entertainment thingy, to take you away from the norm and put you into an unreality where gak happens.
Gurren Lagann (shame on all of you for not noting this first ), Bleach, Naruto, Soul Eater, Full Metal Alchemist, FMA:Brotherhood, Full Metal Panic 1, Full Metal Panic Fumu Fu, Neon Genisis Evangeleon, Battle Angel, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Death Note... Paprika, Ghost in a Shell (all of them),...
Older Gundam, Some Macross, Love Hina, Elfen Lied, ...
So many good ones.
This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
/shrug, for some reason I've never gotten really into it. I think I just don't like how the characters are drawn.

I sometimes notice different in the art of some manga, but I just ignore it and it doesn't bother me after a bit. From the 200+ Chapter One Piece get's pretty epic. I always liked how Luffy was never the top dog and when he did beat up big guys, he would take alot of damage too.

Some of it I like, but if given a choice, I would choose Naruto.
Anime/manga, in the context of their America related counterparts- tend to be easier to jump into. Their characters usually have easy to identify personalities/ pro- or antagonist roles, and better animation and drawing relating to them.
That being said, not all anime and manga are of course of the excellent variety. There are things which are just as bad as some of their American counterparts, but overall anime and manga tend to be of a higher quality and standard.
And now for my favorite atm:
One Piece. (DAMN IT!!! WHY DID YOU KILL ACE!?!?!?!? WHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)
I also happen to be a favorite of the AMERICAN dub of SAMURAI PIZZA CATS:
WHY?
Well for starters the opening and almost all the show itself was replaced by an off-the-cusp redubbing as the English writers who got videos of the show lost the original Japanese scripts somewhere. So they threw together a show almost entirely different from the original.
That and the opening I just linked was sung by one of the show's writers after getting buzzed on some beer.

I enjoy watching anime because it's not crap like some of the stuff on tv.
I enjoy manga, but I don't often read them, as my library doesn't have mush in choice.

me and samurai pizza cats in the early 90s before school early in the morning...with my bowl of fruity pebbles...win..
Some of it is okay - I particularly enjoyed "Ninja Scroll." But an awful lot of it is either too damn cutesy or head-scratchingly perverse ("Urotsuku-doji")
I love watching anime because its much easier to find something unpredictable and with characters that actually develop. I tend to prefer anime over manga becuase I have massive ADHD so the moving things and flashing lights grab my attention. :3 I am a bit over the top as both of my current tattoos are anime based and my third will be too (but the fourth wont be .)
My personal faves are Samurai Pizza Cats, Full Metal Panic!, Tenchi Muyo, Trigun, Excel Saga, Paranoia Agent, Gantz, and many many others I can't think of the names right now. My favorite manga by far is King of Hell. If tokyo pop ever gets off their arses and gets production going again I'll be one happy little moo cow.
