So i've been looking to have a fun project that i can practice some things on. Most of my friends haven't seen the few painted models i have so i thought i would work on more of a display piece to show them what its like. Afterwards i'm going to give it to my friend.

I wanted to use a bigger base size to include an enemy model.

Sorry if the pics aren't that great, i'm going to upload new ones when i get the chance.

So far everything is assembled and ready for paint.
A friend, George Hogan (MetalGecko) did the conversion work. The body is from the captain from the starter set, while the helmet is a a company champions, the axe is from the assault squad box, backpack from the captain box, and the book from a dark angel piece. The chest piece is just the standard crusader one found in the tactical squad box.

Hopefully i can keep on this project a little more than past ones with updating it as i work on it.

Hve you made the 25mm base removable so he's game (tourny) legal, or is that not a concern for you?

I love the conversion, can't wait to see the paint!

I think i'm going with doom eagles, although i will avoid the usual blue armor (librarian), and stick with gunmetal. Probably use green instead of red as a secondary (for the cloak mostly).

@Tek: no, its more of a display piece.

Very nice, the tiered bases worked well for creating a little hill.

I had intended for this model to be part of a white scars successor chapter, so the librarian carried a book that detailed the enemies they were suppose to hunt. Unfortunately that project fell through, but i really liked this model so i decided a display piece would do him justice.

I especially like how the psychic hood seems to be represented by the eagles behind his head.

Great mini

I would guess the parts are:

legs, back and main section: AoBR commander.
Head: company champion from marine command squad.
Backpack: Commander.

Cant place the axe or book though

Tons of character, looks great too.
Any thought about using it in game? or show only?

"And now we commend this Carnifex to the Earth. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust..."

Great work on that, brilliant use of the AoBR Commander.

i think the eagle on the back was from the captain sprue, suppose to be the top of a standard perhaps, it was MetalGecko's idea to use it as a psychic hood. I listed the origin of the other bits in the beginning of the post.

-Show only, giving it to a friend

Thanks for all the positive comments so far

bit is actually part of the AOBR captain's body, the back and shoulders specificly. Kinda ticked I never picked one up now I'd love to carve that off for a librarian myself.

Axe looks like its from the old space wolf blood claw box.
Book from DA veterans box

Those are my guesses anyway

@ andy_123_p: It's not on xbox, i have it on my computer, dow2 requires that you use a windows live id, which happens to be the same as an xbox live one, so it uses my gamertag

-Concerning the axe, its just from the assault squad box
