Noob player
I have 'Nids 99% completed, and I have CSMs ready for paint.
I'm looking to build a third army with a very specific requirement: I'm looking for a 2000-2500 point build that is competitive with the LEAST amount of physical models. Not 3 Stompas and whatever will fill the rest of the FOC; I'd like to have an army to play against that is the antithesis of a horde.
Any thoughts?

Necrons are boring, not competitive, and you need a lot of troops to make the army work in any way shape or form, due to Phase Out.
Try an army with two warbosses, two big nob squads, and mount them in battlewagons. A mech Ork force can be fairly small, yet competitive.

What about Eldar, going with dual Seer Councils on Jetbikes? That's pretty much the definition of small and elite right there.

OP:
Why are you looking for a third army? You can make a Tyranid MC list that is few models and quite potent. You can make a nurgle marine CSM army that is also quite potent.

Sorry I missed this a little while back. I am looking for a third army because I travel a lot for work, so my gaming options are very limited in terms of other people, so I'm trying to build a variety of armies to play at home. I also enjoy painting and converting, but Nids have really sapped my energy, and I can forsee the CSMs (which are going to be more varied in their paint schemes) making me even more tired of painting, so I wanted a thirrd army that would be quick to field. I'd love to do an IG army, but I'd like to get into playing before 2015.

I would say Eldar, they can be very competitive, without using many models.
