Hokay, this is kinda random, but hey - I felt like posting it. Yes, I believe there was a similar thread before this possibly, but I don't recall.
Anyway, anything awesome ever happened to your models in a game? Well post it here! Anyway, my inspiration comes from an apocalypse game I played today against Necrons. I won, naturally, with my marines :p. Anyway I've made a new incarnation of an old captain I had once upon a time, who dissapeared. This incarnation, tbh it's the MK2, was taking to battle for the first time, and after lots of assaulting and killing he was eventually reduced to one wound, and his command squad gone. He then proceeded to pass 17 armour saves levelled at him, and only on the 18th his 3+ failed. Epic stuff, IMO.
Also, I'm still looking for a good name for this guy. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Also with my Crimson Fist, recently a Sternguard Squad with Pedro Took on Full Size units of Chaos Marines , then a Tact Squad + an Assault Squad took on Abbaddon and a unit of Bezerkers, and 4 TH/SS Terminators with a 5 man no powerweapon combat squad took on 20 Chaos Marines all in CC. Pedro was only within range of his sternguard for the extra swing. The Game ended with 2 Chaos Marines left on the table. 8 Close combat phases and I felt my Crimson Fist had just earned their title of the Sons of Dorn. It was a grueling battle but so, Abanddon was killed while Pedro lived with 1 wound left at the end of the game, I felt only fitting to reclaim some of the honor lost when Rogal Dorn died on the final assault of a Chaos Marine ship.

Lol, here's another one for y'all. Same old command squad, and the MK1 Captain [who was without his current additions of a plasma pistol and digital weapons - only his faithful old powersword which has been replaced] were attacked by a 1 wound abbadon who'd just offed the Nightbringer. He ate through the Captain and command squad, except for the champion who passed his 6+ invun! Then - yes, you guessed it! - the champion proceeded to kill Abbadon! :p sheer awesomeness! And also, in CC, 9 out of 10 assault phases he hits with all or a majority of his attacks. He is probably the single most awesome company champion out there. xD Self-love ftw oO

Heroic moment, was at my last toury with my Howling Griffons, Spacemarine captian on bike (with relic blade, stormshied artie armour) and a command squaD( CHAMPION, one power weapon and thunderhamer with storm shields on every one except champion and medic) counter assaulted a orc squad of 20 warriors, and Dreadnought, Killed off orcs stayed in combat with dread( thunderhammer was not hitting) gets assulated by 15 man squad of orc Kills them off and wins combat, Dread is broken off and unit was broken,( i lost one power weapon, and champion in that attack)
then assualted a nob squad of five nobs, with only the captian,( rest of the command squad was killed in a shotting attack) kills one Nob and wonds two others, they stay in combat. gett charged by war boss, kills two nobs and wounds war boss, captain is still un harmed( minus two wounds from combat with orc squads) wins combat , breaks nobs and war boss, cant chase him down due to poor dice throwning i rolled a 2 and they rolled a 5, game ends

Meh. Somehow, that story doesn't surprise me, although depending on the actual loadout of the nobz and co - I mean, Klawboss with mega/'eavy armour is nasty. Especially with maxed numbered Nob squad with 'Eavy armour, power klawz and 'uge choppers, and a painboy. Also BTW I love your avatar. Made me lul.

once saw a Carnifex assault a squad of guardsmen.
splats everyone except the Sergeant with LP and CCW.
Sergeant hit all attacks and only one wounds.
Carnifex fails that one save.
i can assure you that the Carnifex was just as surprised as the Sergeant.
i also once had a Combat squad that would not, COULD not, fail an armor save.
2, 20 man squads of Necron warriors, and a monolith couldn't hurt them.
Warriors were SA and the mono fell to a Dreadnought, but those guys were unkillable.

Here's one with my Crimson Fist captain Delgado from a game last week. It was 2v2, Salamanders and Crimson Fists vs. Tyranids. Captain Delgado, with his command squad and loyal bodyguard Ook-Ook charged a Hive Tyrant and his two Tyrant Guards, and proceeded to slaughter all three, with the deathblows to one Guard and the Tyrant delivered by Delgado's power fist. Next came a Tervigon charging a Salamanders Tactical squad, pinned in the wreckage of their Rhino. Delgado and his boys showed the big bug who's boss, and smashed it into the ground. A Trygon burst from the ground further back in the line, and you can bet Delgado punched that bug too, however he lost all his command squad in the process.
At this point, I have four Marines left, one of them being Delgado. My Salamanders teammate only has two assault Terminators and one tactical sergeant. In a grand charge, Delgado leads the tactical marine and sergeant, plus the assault sergeant I still have into melee with a squad of 8 Warriors. Delgado kills four of them, and wins the melee. Shooting kills the last of my Marines, with Delgado the last one alive. On the bottom of turn 7, he charges the second Tervigon, causes 3 wounds to it, receives one in return, and the game ends.
A sure defeat was turned into a tie, as two Salamanders Assault Terminators and a slightly wounded Captain Delgado were the last Marines on the table. 15 kp to 15 kp, and it was an awesome game.

Why is it surprising that four thunderhammers and 3++ killed 20 chaos marines in cc? let alone throw in 5 marines even without weapons and a fifth termie I would trully have been stunned if they won that combat. Same goes for the sternguard with pedro in it. It is not really epic that they won.

But Kight, they're crimson fists. That makes it epic. Because they are epic. Also, a rhino, being shot on its rear armour by a monoliths str 9 ap 2/1 large blast ordnance weapon survived. Lolwut. Oh, and on a very much not epic note - my recently purchased Techmarine + servitors all died to the first round of shooting levelled at them. Yep, the Techmarine had one 2+ save and he whiffed it. To necrons. Then again, it was with my overpowered and dearly in need of revision home rules... got bored of that so I just smashed him yesterday :p As for the game as I talked about in the OP, it was 3305pts apocalypse. He picked some necron stratigic asset that failed, and I picked flank march. I had two combat tactical squads on objectives and one full tac squad in a bastion objective (which weapons were counted as inoperable). The combat squads were in metal boxes. Everything else in my army reserved on in his deployment lol. With Dreadnoughts, chaplains, captains, land raiders, assaulting Devestators (they actually didn't fire all game - just assaulted) and assaulting assault marines. And a master of the forge. Who died again. Pedro kantor was dead at the end of the game, having only killed two scarab swarm bases before being shot up by destroyers. Although, at the end of the game, the result was 2 objectives to none: he had killed 1616pts/3305pts of my force, and I killed 2944pts/3304pts of his. He had a completely unwounded Nightbringer left, which was trying to hump my bastion to death at the end of the game. Yep, it had ran across the board for two turns of failing to destroy the bastion, lolzzz. Other than that, that was the biggest slaughter I've ever handed out - thanks to the lack of phase out in apocalypse. I like flank march :p

in a battle against thousand suns... deploy a land raider full of terminators up at my deployment edge (pitched battle)... opponent seized initiative. A squad of obliterators takes the raider out. The terminators march up the field, towards his lord and a squad of thousand suns. Everyone in the squad dies during the charge... only the sergeant with a hammer / shield makes it in to base to base with the squad. for the next 3 turns, that single sergeant cannot fail a save... he just keeps making 3+ saves. Unfortunately, he can't land a blow on the lord, either... eventually, after 6 rounds of combat, he lands a killing blow on the lord, and continues to tie up the squad of thousand suns until assault marines arrive to kill them all. In the end, the sergeant was wounded, finally failing an invulnerable save after the assault marines arrived.
He survived his wound (after the battle), however, and for his heroic actions was promoted to captain. I don't field him often now, as there isn't often a call for a terminator captain in my recent lists, but when I do, my opponents fear him ><

BTW, how does Demetrius Keth sound as a name for the captain? Also, the heresy online name generator is an epic fail. Most of it is a bash of parts of names of named characters. The rest is just crap. :/ Anyways, another tale of failyness - A long time ago (I've got a video of it somewhere, need to post that on youtube) in a game, 10 necrons got inside my bastion. For the entire game, each shooting phase from then on, they missed with the lascannon. Automatically Appended Next Post: Once upon a time, an assault terminator who'd walked from one end of the board to the other, was the last of his squad, was sitting within 3" of the enemy objective (again necrons), making it a draw (me having my objective and his being contested). Pretty good, IMO. They went through about 4-5 necron units on the way.

heres one for you. playing a buddy of mine recently to get ready for ard boys its turn 5 of a kill point mission i think we where close in kp 5-8 my favor or something like that . he shoots at a lone terminator with a squad of noise marines a reaper from chaos teminators and a land raider the terminator makes all of his saves then gets assaulted by lc chaos terminators takes 8 wounds from the lightning claws and makes 7 out 8 of his saves he failed the last save i rolled
then there was the time versus blood angels when a squad of terminators was shot at by a assault cannon that rends all 4 times and i roll 6,6,6,5 for my invul saves

Lol! Now THAT is some awesome moments! But tbh, if you've used up all your luck in those games - get assault termies. With a LR. And Vulcan. And a salamanders army. Nevermind. :p
But still, with the failing only 1 save - that happens so often, i.e. my aforementioned 17/18 saves made by my captain, and that was the last unit that he could afford to use to shoot at him. Infact, the last save may not even have been part of the roll anyway.
Here's another story of fail (I got a lot of these don't I?) my friend deep striked some of his termies + Termy chaplain, and it was the first time they were used, and they were shot up by bolt pistols and boltguns from a command squad. They lost 3 terminators from about 5 saves. My mate was like "WTF!!11!1!!". The command squad then assaulted a lone assault terminator joined to pedro, the terminator died and pedro survived. Pedro then killed the rest of the command squad I think. The other SM commander got pedro down to 1 wound, then the termies assaulted and we won :p. 2 on 2 sm battles are always fun... kinda. Not..

hehe actually my 1850 lists are dualwing this is gonna be my first deathwing list im borrowing like 12 termies for ard boyz back on topic though
sammael on jetbike vs 2 blood angels assault squads 2 priests and a chaplain for 4 rounds and winning with 2 wounds left is another heroic moment for me also i love it when the lil guys do something epic like a devestator with a lascannon exploding a defiler on turn one while a single attack bike teleports in a squad of termies , blows off a vindicators main gun with a multi melta and immobillizes it in assault during the same turn to kill off my opponents high str blasts then going on to capture an objective was awesome i think i broke his morale by the time turn two was done.

Lol. A lot of people think DA aren't particularly competetive; and the only way to run them is LR/Termy spam, or very very well played bike and landspeeder spam. Either way... I'm sure my many a time aforementioned friend who plays necrons would love to meet a 2500pt army with 60 terminators! Lol!

Lol! I dunno... In DA termy squads you can mix and match weapons I believe, whereas in 2500pt vanilla list, you could get 50 termies for 2000pts... maybe 5-8 more + Termy captain or something.
Anyways, back on topic.
