Does anyone own , or know any good products that is like a display shelf?
It should be good at keeping dust out while its easy to organize.
I have looked at some glass ones but the warning of "tapping or too much pressure can cause the glass to shatter"
makes me have 2nd thoughts of buying it.

Most cabinets or shelves with glass cabinets would have that as a disclaimer.
The glass used should be toughened so there is no problem if you are just placing minis on the shelves.

I have a few of these at home

They're a little annoying to assemble but cheap.

Hehe I have an image of Lunahound getting minis all laid out and displayed, some in nice semi circles by army, then closing the wood door to the cabinet.. Sorry i just think that is a funny image
I like those Ikea cabinets. I wonder how they pack them as to not break in shipping..

I was going to recommend that one as well. By far the least expensive display case option (that still looks decent).

Assembling them is easy when you have someone to help.
I'm really satisfied with this cabinet and would definitely buy more.

My only gripe with these units is the space between shelves. Even with a monolith on them, there can be a lot of wasted space on the ones with only three shelves.
Also, there's another store similar to Ikea by the name of Jysk, not sure if you're familiar. They sell the same kind of stuff, often cheaper. http://www.jysk.ca/productdetails.aspx?id=10326&prodid=3368-12

The Ikea cabinets are great. I bought two of them when I moved to display my mini when they are not in the case for transport. My only gripe is that the shelves are only about a foot square, maybe a little larger. That and the wasted space as mentioned.

I have a few things to say - first, are you sure you want GLASS? I mean, Glass is OK for items which go on the shelf once and never come off, but you will (I presume) be constantly taking models on and off the shelves. Sooner or later, I imagine this might lead to disaster!!!
Second, it doesn't look like much space to me. Lunahound, I don't know how many models you have, but I see you've been around the boards for a long time and I know you buy LOTS of minis on Swap Shop, so I imagine that your collection is HUGE. So while a glass case looks nice, it might not be practical, especially a small one like this.
Next, remember that your average mini is about 1 inch tall. So look at all that wasted space. Here's what I did:
I got a bookshelf (cheap one) and then doubled the number of shelves by going down to the home depot and asking them to cut me some more (I took one of the shelves with me for comparison purposes). Then I drilled some extra holes into the sides of the shelf and placed some pegs in there to support the new shelves (some shelves have holes running up and down both sides - even better if you can manage it).
So with 8 shelves in my 7' bookshelf, I had tons of room for models. The shelf is made of sturdy, sturdy wood. It has no door on the front, but why would you want one? You would have to open and close it constantly for games, ridiculous I say! Open access to your models is the way to go!
So I have 2 like this now, and believe me, I've never looked back. I suppose the only way it could be better would be if it was lit - maybe some of those "stick-on" lights would be easy enough - affixed to the bottom of each shelf.
Now if you don't need a functional shelf but instead want a display shelf (maybe in your living room for showing off your best models to friends and family) then sure, glass would be great! But only in that circumstance would I advise it.

Solorg, I can only assume that you don't have cats, ferrets, dogs or children.
A glass case with a lockable door is definitely preferable in such "dangerous" environments.

It is true that this shelf is in a basement room far from curious hands or paws.

The benefit of the Ikea glass cabinets over the bookshelf route(I had both) is dust. Having it in a room with a cat and a smoker adds alot of dust to the air, which inturn leads to dust on the shelves and minis. Having a glass door on the case prevents this from landing on your minis. just my thoughts on this.

@Solorg Yes i agree with majority of the points.
The iKea shelf. How much in CDN was it when you guys bought it? I remember back last december it was on sale?
I know for minis there is like more than half of the space are wasted because the dividers are too far apart.
But for the price , i guess there isnt much options >.<
Regarding shelves , i have stored mini on shelves , but its impossible to clean them properly without taking them off 1 by 1 and dusting them.
Hence why now im looking for alternatives like glass display cases.
However , i have thought of buying sheets of transparent table coverings which i can just thumb tack them over the book shelves.
but the problem is , i have NO IDEA where they sell these.
I tried home hardware store , all they have are like giant thin plastic sheets i guess painter uses to cover the ground.

A shower curtain would probably work for that too. Although it may be hard to find a clear one without fishies on it

I have the Billy Bookcase from Ikea, combined with one of the Glass doors you can buy. I only have a single cabinet but you can purchase a double if you need more space.
It's fantastic, 2 metres tall, adjustable shelving and you can purchase extra shelves if you want more then you are supplied with.
This is mine:
http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/00085711
The double bookcase:
http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/00118170
And the door:
http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/20104092
You can just take the insert out of the door to make it clear.

But the 6 shelves are very good!

The IKEA Detolf is great, there's a fair bit of space between the shelves and they aren't adjustable but I've got used to it, and it stops it being over crowded. It's also only £35 or $60 which is a bargain!
You definately need two people to assemble it and safely carry the packaging though.
