They're both 40 pts, assault orientated, extremely tough units, both OK at range and both ws4, but ogryns get more attacks, strike first, are stubborn and are MUCH tougher but termies have 2+ saves and inv save, deep strike, higher strength, bs and ld, and longer range + ap but less shots and lower strength shots. So, which is best value for there points cost? Anyone had a melee between an equal number of termies and ogryns?
Also, y are Ogryns £12 for ONE when termies are only double that for 5? 10 termies=£50 10 ogryns=£120.

Are we talking across Space Marines and IG, or are we talking about Grey Knight terminators as allies?

Either way, the termies are always better than the Ogryn.

Normal SM storm bolts n power fist termies and whether there more effective than ogryns, against any targets including eachother.

Also terminator melee attacks ignore armor saves. So in a 1:1 fight, terminators win hands down.

The Ogryns are better suited against hordes. A comparable pointed Ork mob would have more trouble vs the Oggys than the Termies.

It's not as cut-and-dry as you've pasted it above - both units have completely different roles.

Terminators are elite shock troops, made to smash through the enemy's lines in one devestating assault.

Ogyrns are tarpits, soaking up damage through their natuaral high T and bucketload of wounds. They are *not* assault troops and if you treat them as such you'll be exceptionally underwhelmed with their performance.

Eventually the Terminators would win, but it would take them 2 (3 if a Lord Commisar is nearby) turns to do so, which is exactly what the Guard player wants.

Termies can move and fire heavy weapons - that is a nice trick.

So the only basis for this comparison was a mere points cost?
In that case, compare bloodcrushers to both of them, since they are only 40 points.

40 points seems to be GWs "Duh" point. Chaos Spawn, TH/SS Terminators, Ogryns, and Bloodcrushers. Both ends of the spectrum there!

Also, if there both 40 pts each, y is it that ogryns are £12 each when a full squad of 5 termies is only £25? That means it's a whole £70 more for 10 ogryns than 10 termies. I know GW products have a ridiculous pricing system (if they have one at all) but this is just insane

The price difference is because the ogryn models are big chunks of metal while the terminators are plastic.

Terminators are better, they have a really good armour save
While Orgyns are tough have extra attacks and a nice ammount of wounds.
