First of all, I love the site. There's two minor improvements that could be made from my point of view:
- If I search the gallery for "terminator chaplain", I'll get oodles of pictures in my results that have no chaplain or terminators in my results. Same if I just search for "chaplain". No idea why this happens or how to solve it. Would it be possible to create a search just through picture titles?
- Searching through the forums is sometimes hard, every thread will be returned once for every post in it. Perhaps it would be possible to just search through topic titles and get topics as results, instead of posts?

The gallery search is actually pretty good and accurate. However, some tags get merged incorrectly and it just so happens terminator chaplain is one of them (merged with 'terminator armour'). I have undone that merge but it will take quite some time for the search index to update completely.

The forum search does indeed suck and a major overhaul is planned in the nearish future. It is the most boring part of the code to work on, but is due after a lot of optimisation stuff I am doing at the moment and a mobile phone/lite dakka theme (as well as a bunch of little features).

Can I bump this a bit? Since Warseer hit a rocky patch, I've taken to running parallel painting logs on Dakkadakka, all of which are titled "Precinct Omega paints..." whatever.

I started doing this on Warseer because it meant that if I was updating a plog that might have fallen many pages into the history, I could just run a search for "Precinct Omega" and - behold! - my threads would all organize themselves into a neat little list.

But for some reason the search function here doesn't seem to include the thread title in its search parameters. As a result, I have to do the wading... and as a result I waste valuable painting time trying to maintain plogs on Dakkadakka and, thus, am less inclined to do so.

I know that improving the search function is on legoburner's to-do list, but wanted to add my voice to the chorus of requests and to explain why I wanted this particular mod made.

The search engine is literally what I am working on at the moment. Once it is up and running, it should be much easier to find old threads as you describe.

It was working perfectly a while back, but various upgrades broke it and I have not had a chance to dig in and fix it. Title searching is planned as a feature in this next upgrade too.
