whats the deal with this allies stuff? I have a heard a few guys mentioning running with "allied units" I saw a space marine player using units from the space wolves, he said they were allies? Is there somewhere i can read up on this? What allies do orks have?

Unless they were playing Apoc OR a team game then this is not allowed
But all imperial armies can have Inquisition alies however as that is in the codex stating they can.

In short: unless your codex specifically says that you can use the units in another army (or vice versa) then no, you cannot.

Imperial is every army that belongs to the Imperium: Marines(of all non-Chaos flavors), IG, DH, and WH.
