I wonder if anyone out there knows if Ard boyz this year will be useing 8th Edition, seeing how it comes out one month earlier.

Probably at the least for Regionals and Finals. Locals will probably mostly still do what they want.

I would think it must? Especially at the GW stores... I imagine most people are excited to move on to new rules and hopefully have the heavy hitters balanced a bit. Imagine if the new rules tone down magic, but you're playing against magic-heavy daemons in the first round of 'ard boyz? I'd certainly only play that game using the new edition...

Traditionally when a new rules set comes out TOs wait about 3 months from the release before actually running events with those rule sets (I am not talking about Army Books Just main rules sets). This is because it will take time not only for the TOs to learn the rules but also all the players. I would expect 'ard Boyz to be 7th ed up to the finals. The Finals can go either way depending on how long the rules have been out.

You know I actually hope they use the new rules, not that I faired badly last year quite the opposite. If it wasn't for bad deployment on my hand in the last game I would've ended up in 2nd in the semi's instead of fourth. Anyways the new rules will give alot of armies that struggle a better fighting chance. I'm so running a huge block of spearmen for my Empire.
