The rulebook tells us that "every unit that has been destroyed is worth an amount of VPs equal to its points cost."

Assume a Tervigon spawns a unit of 10 termagants, and those termagants are destroyed. How many VPs are awarded?

A) 50, as, if you were to buy the Termagants, that's how much you would pay for them; or

B) 0, as that unit "cost" nothing to bring to the field.

Thoughts?

(Especially relevant for mission 2 of the Ard Boyz Preliminaries.)

I'd go with 0. Ask your TO though.

5 pts per Termagant in the unit created, as they are treated exactly like the ones you purchase, and that how much the ones you purchase cost.

Under the Spawn Termagants rule it states:
"A unit spawned by a Terivgon is identical in every way to a Termagant unit chosen from the Troops section of the force organisation chart, and is treated as such for all scenario special rules."

By that wording I would say that everytime a tervigon uses its spawn termagant ability, the amount of termagants spawned is a new unit. Therefore when you wipe out the amount spawned, you would be awarded one kill point. Unless I'm being stupid, I didn't think that there were any scenarios anymore where victory points were being used. If they were, I would consider each termagant worth 5 points according to the rule.

I really hate the terivgon rules for spawning termagants for this very reason...

It balances out the fact they're Scoring Units in missions that use Objectives, which more often than not are 2/3rds of missions played.
