Subject: Lower UK £ vs. US $ = more Forge World for USA

The pound closed at $1.45370 US this past week. Last time the pound dropped to less than $1.50 it was a real Forge World purchase enabler for US hobbyists, so I thought I'd point it out to some fellow model collecting fanatics.
Current Forge World fixed US pricing is at around $1.60/pound so on large orders the lower rate can still yield significant savings, though not as much obviously as when US pricing was fixed at $2/pound more than a year ago. Also, remember that orders that break the £250 barrier get free express shipping and while most credit cards have a conversion surcharge of a few percent it's still usually smaller than state sales tax. If the exchange rate dips further I know I will be sorely tempted to buy something tall and mutated that I shouldn't be thinking about at all.
Have fun and if you buy something cool please share about it below.

250 GBP used to be $500. Now, the same order costs $363 and change. Certainly nothing to sneeze at.
I've been ordering alot of FW the last 8 or so months. With the release of IA8, it looks like GW will be getting my cash via the FW website.

Yeah. The LoC was at $225 in February, now it's at $200. Not a huge drop but the $25 difference does pay for express shipping (or allows one to order something else from FW).

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Great topic. I have been keeping my eye on the exchange rate as of the last few weeks and it has made putting off ordering a Titan very difficult.
If the exchange rates stay this good by the end of the month I think I will have a Titan in my possession.

I was trolling around the FW site just now and jumped into a section I never bother with, Games Workshop Kits.
Rhino= 18 GBP
18 GBP= $26
Rhino US retail= $30
Save $4 buying it from FW
Some others I noted:
-FW razorback complete kit- save $4
You loose money if you buy just the razorback turret at $17
-FW Whirlwind complete kit- saves $2.50
-GW Chimera from FW- saves $7
-FW Tau- Suits cost +$8, but you get a complete GW suit with resin upgrades to make a better mini.
Generally speaking, I prefer the FW kits to the standard GW kits. Anything that sets my army apart from another is a good thing.
1 big order coming right up.

We've ( UK) just had an election and it was a hung parliament. (No clear winner)
It should drop a bit more then balance out, depending on the new policy implementations.

Let us just hope they get the equivalent of George W. Bush over there.
Should bring the pound to about the level of the peso.

Uh, no one with a brain would wish for the source of those problems you're whining about to come back. Opinions are like anuses, everyone's got one, but most other people don't want to see or hear it. Now how about staying on topic instead of derailing the thread please.
I've been thinking about the Chaos Reaver Titan ever since they first announced it. The exchange rate's been hovering around $1.44 today. Mighty tempting. I imagine some people in the US might even start buying regular GW stuff from places like Maelstrom Games in the UK if the rate is favorable enough.

You're so clever and intelligent.
I'm sure it's Obama's policies and his actual attention to what is going to happen as a result of his policies when he's not in office anymore that's the problem with this country's economy, and not him having to deal with the fallout of Bush cutting taxes without commensurably lowering costs, a childish, obstructionist Republican opposition, and corporate control of the U.S. media spreading falsehoods about how his proposed legislature will actually work.
You're entitled to your own opinion; you are NOT entitled to your own facts. Everything Obama has done is designed to strengthen the U.S. economy and the quality of life in our country in the long run, and you believing everything you are told by Hannity and Beck doesn't make up for the fact that you don't understand elementary economics.
