I wanted to start a Thousand Sons army ever since I started but could never get there until now. I have come up with a rough list.
2,000 Points
Lord
MoT
Dual LC
4 Term.
IoT
3 w/ LC
1 w/ PF and Heavy Flamer
All in Land Raider with Daemonic Possesion
Sorc.
MoT
Doombolt
Warptime
Familiar
9 T.Sons
Doombolt
9 T.Sons
Doombolt
9 T.Sons
Doombolt
All T.Sons and the Sorc in 3 Rhinos with extra armour
2 Oblits
2 Oblits
I believe I have extra points, but I don't have the book on me. All feedback is appreciated. Thank you. 2

just to let you know with the sorcerer having MoT you dont need the familiar to have the extra power. Other than that the list is solid....for 1k sons. They lack the much needed AT so i suggest mixing in one or two squads of CSMs so you can get the meltas. Trust me they need it. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also they suck in HtH and will always strike last if they charge due to Slow and Purposeful rule. That is also why i suggest the CSM squads since they are so versatile.

I do NOT suggest running TS without Rhinos.
__________________________
Lord: makes more sense to go with a Sorc or DW lord.
Lord/Termies in LR is quite underwhelming...so don't expect too much out of them.
Sorc Lord: wind of chaos, hell no to doombolt. What's the point of the familiar?
Dust Buckets: a bitt too much really, I highly suggest replacing 1 to 2, to all three (count as) with CSM squads to support them.
Rhinos are always good.
You need anti-tank. you need anti-transports. you need anti-horde.
You have really none of that and are only good versus unsupported, unmeched MEQ.
Oblits are ok, but out of place if one would be a stickler for these kinds of things.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Okay then, drop familiar.
How can I fit in two of the CSM w/meltas? Automatically Appended Next Post: Can I get an example list so I get a better understanding? Automatically Appended Next Post: I am not a stickler for keeping to the fluff, I just want to use T. Sons as majority.

I did a 1500 point Thousand Sons list I liked a lot.
Chaos Sorceror
Mark of Tzeentch
Warptime
Wind of Chaos
Daemon Prince
Wings
Mark of Tzeentch
Warptime
Bolt of Change
8 Thousand Sons with Aspiring Sorceror and Wind of Chaos with Personal Icon.
Mounted in Rhino.
8 Thousand Sons with Aspiring Sorceror and Wind of Chaos with Personal Icon.
Mounted in Rhino.
9 Summoned Lesser Daemons.
10 Chaos Space Marines
Champion Power Fist
2 Meltaguns.
Icon of Tzeentch
Mounted in Rhino.
Chaos Predator with Autocannon and Lascannon Sponsons.
Worked in Horror/Flamer models for summoned Daemons who are functional at anti-horde and can come in without scatter and deny a charge and tie stuff up and take objectives. Chaos Space Marines with the Mark of Tzeentch are Thousand Sons-ey but much better at close combat and vs Vehicles. But yeah Daemons are so terribly nice for keeping the Thousand Sons out of close combat which should be your priority. Wind of Chaos ignores the Aspiring Sorceror's lesser ballistic skill compared to a real Sorceror and makes you actually dangerous advancing out of a rhino on a squad in cover.
In going to 2,000 points I was thinking of another predator for working as a pair and maybe some Vindicators.

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

Yep, what Nitros14 is a good list. Flexible and covers what the Dust Buckets can't do.
On a side note, I'm a little meh on the BoC on the DP.

It sounds like a good list. I might add in the Vindicators as I want to ignore as many saves as possible.
Not sold on the DP though. Would he be better than the Terminator Lord?

I mostly like that he draws fire away from your rhinos and predator, and he has a good invulnerable save and can't be instant killed. Rather than the Terminator Lord who directs fire right at your transports, and a Land Raider is a lot of points. And of course if they ignore the Daemon Prince he does horrendous things to whatever he touches.
I like Bolt of Change for hurling at transports as he flies by, I found Wind of Chaos caused him to kill himself out of assault range and then be vulnerable to shooting.
Just personal opinion.
P.S. And you can use a Lord of Change as your Daemon Prince. Style points.

Oh, I see. I think I might "borrow" this list if you don't mind Nitros14.
Don't worry I will tweak it with Oblits(I rather use units than vehicles) and add in some other things.
And I appreciate the opinion. That is something to think about. Automatically Appended Next Post: LoC as a DP? Sounds good.

you need 2 Daemon princes with MOT, warptime, and wings. All your thousand son squads should have bolt of change rather then using doombolt so they have that str.8 ap 1 at 24 inchs. Automatically Appended Next Post: heres my old list when i had the army. Won a lot of local tourneys with it. If i still had the army i'd drop all the heavy support, and take oblitz instead as there a lot better.

First, Pfft, who needs Eldrad when it only takes Runes of Warding from any Joe Farseer to shut down the powers in this army.
Secondly, @italiaplaya, Bolt of Change is a huge pile of gak, you heard me, gak. You take it if you like, but know it's a black hole in terms of points and efficiency.
The Dust Buckets can not afford to diversify their primary and singular role...that's why you go with Wind of Chaos on a rhino mounted squad... it brings the pain. The reason to go with Doombolt is to keep costs lower.
You want anti-tank? Go with Termicides, AC/LC Preds, CSM squads with Meltas, Chosen w/ Meltas, etc, etc, etc. So many better options/platforms.
Face it, GW hates all things associated with Tzeentch at this moment.
A tri-las is not suggested as said the AC/LC is suggested, the high costing top turret is just not worth it...and what the Dust Buckets need is anti-transports, not necessarily anti-Battle Tanks.

No DP. I have enough Tyranid and Daemon monstrous creatures.
I would like to go Oblitz though.
Can a Tzeentch Sorc. use two powers(Warptime and Wind/Force Weapon)?
Anti-tank is going to be a squad of CSM w/meltas and the oblitz.
Bolt of change seems a waste as you would waste the AP3 bolters against a vehicle...

Any unit with the Mark of Tzeentch may make two psychic tests per turn (Ahriman can make three). This can be anything EXCEPT using two shooting powers. You can use Warptime and Force Weapon or Wind of Chaos, but not three in one turn.
And yes it is a waste.
