tonight i had a 2000 pt match vs an opponents Zerker list.


My list

Grey knight GM (psycannon, icon of the just)
4 grey knight terminators(psycannon)

Terrain 4x4 table
one side had 2 buildings and a forest spread evenly along it. the left side of the opposite edge had 12" of Aegis defense line with a small gap in the center of it, the aquillia from honored impierium behind it. the right side had a crashed lander surrounded by ruins.

Mission: Seize ground 3 objectives. he won roll and opted to go first, he chose the side with the forest on it.

he deployed a Zerker squad in the forest, between the forest and a building, between the 2 buildings(abbadon went here) and one between a building and the edge.

I deployed Stern and one of the 10 man PAGK squads on and around the aegis defnese line and the stone aquilia. my LR went on top of the lander with the 5 man PAGk squad inside, GKGM and retinue to the left of the LR, remainging PAGk squad to the right and on the table edge.

Objectives were in front of the forest on the right, next to my LR, and one in the exact center.

His movement
all zerkers move forward 6".

Shooting
all zerkers run. Bezerkers on the left and right table edges run 5", ones in center run 1"

Stern and the PAGKs near him drop 4 bezerkers off the left bezerker squad. GKGM, landraider, Dreadnought and PAGK squad kill 9 zerkers out of the right most zerker squad.



Turn 2

his movement
all zerkers move up 6" Abbadon's men and the left most Zerkers make for Stern. everyone else heads for my GKGM and PAGKs.

Shooting
plasma pistols in left zerker squad shoot for one hit and a "gets hot", one zerker goes down and my PAGK makes his cover save.
Abbaddons squad shooting does zip.
plasma pistols from center right zerker squad kill a terminator from the GKGMs retinue with one Gets hot, but the save is made.
right most zerker squad aims at GKGM and also gets 1 Gets Hot losing the marine and the other shot bounces off the Icon of the Just.


my turn

Movement
Stern says put, but the PAGK squad moves toward my center away from the oncoming bezerkers.
GKGM, Landraider, and the right PAGK squad move backwards 6"

Shooting
GKGM, landraider and Dreadnought fire at the Center right bezerker squad, Frag missile hits bang on target getting 7 hits. combined with psycannons, lascannons, heavy bolters and stormbolters 7 bezerkers goe down, making the squad only 5 man.

Stern's squad fires at the Zerkers, but fail to drop any. PAGKs fire at Abbadon and his zerkers dropping only 2.


turn 3

His movement

Abbadon makes for the little 3" gap in the defense line. the left zerker squad move up to the line as well.
right most bezerkers(who are now only 4 normal guys and a powerfist dude) move toward my PAGKs.
Center zerks move toward my GKGM and company.

Shooting
nothing the speak of.

Assault
abbadon and his men charge the PAGK squad, Abbadoosh kills 7 GKs and the Zerker with a power weapon kills the last 3 before they get to strike. Left Zerkers fail to make the difficult terrain to hop the defense line.
Right side zerkers charge the PAGK squad and due to my poor saves he kills 5 of my PAGKs to me killing 3 Zerkers and i fail both Fearless saves.
Zerkers charge the GKGM. GKGM and retinue wipe the floor with the zerkers and consolidate toward the center.


turn 4

His turn

movement
Abbadon and all the left flank zerkers move over the Aquilia to get at Stern.


Shooting
nothing

Assault
My Right PAGKs Justicar kills the last 2 bezerkers and they move toward the lander objective.

Abbadon and all the zerkers assault Stern. Abbadon kills 3 terminators and Stern dies to ID. one terminators survives to swwing and kill 2 Zekers.


My turn.

My Landraider moves 12" forward to take the objective near the forest
PAGK squad(now 3 man) moves on to the lander objective.
GKGM lines up on the center objective.

Abbadon kills the last terminator and everyone consolidates 6" over the aquilia and toward my army.


Turn 5

Abbadon's squad moves toward my dreadnought in the center.
3 man Zerker squad(all thats left of the left most squad) moves towards the center objective.

5 man PAGK squad shoots at 3 man Zerker squad, but nothing happens
GKGM and terminators, dreadnought, 3 PAGKs and Landraider shoot at abbadons squad bringing it down to 3 men and Abbadoosh.

His turn

abbadon and his 3 zerkers and the other 3 zerkers move toward my GKGM squad.

Assault
Abbadon kills 3 terminators. GKGM kills 1 Zerker in Abbys squad. GKGM dies to a zerkers PF. one terminator left.

movement
5 man PAGK squad move to sit on objective. Landraider puts itself between them and the zerkers

Assault
Abbadon kills the terminator and consolidates toward my dreadnought. other zerker squad consolidates toward my LR.


Turn7, I have 2 objectives to his 0 at this point

His turn

Abbadon leaves the 3 zerkers and charges my Dreadnought killing it.
the 3 zerkers charge my 2 PAGKs on the lander objective. 1 Zerker is killed, but the PF guy kill the GKs.
the other 3 zerkers charge my 4 PAGKs on the objective. on PAGK dies to the plasma pistol shot before the charge. Normal zerkers attacks are saved by PA, but the Justicar whiffs his attacks and the PF zerker kill the last of the GKs.


My turn

My landraider Tankshocks the Bezerkers on the forest objective.

the Zerkers do a DoG attack with a melta bomb. Landraider is penetrated and it explodes, both Zerkers are killed buy the explosion.


End game

he is left with 2 bezerkers holding the lander objective and abbadon.




Very close game and despite the fact i lost i enjoyed it.

i would say i got a moral victory, but there was Blood for the Blood god so i failed at that

An interesting very troop orientated game! Personally I don't think Stern is worth it but good list nonetheless.

I took stern for the 2nd force weapon ability, but abbadons Inititive 7 just killed me.

For what you get Stern is a good buy. For the same cost as a GM you get 1 less wound, but you get some expensive wargear at a discount.

Abaddon is I6. If only you took the sacred incense for your GKGM, those 2 probably would've killed each other.

Well abbadon was always charging, but yes i should have had Sacred incense.

GKGM and Stern are I5 so they could actually attack first and possably pop him.


I know what i am taking next time

I like reading about the grey kights. They are some of the coolest models in all 40k.

Doubt gkgm wudve hurt abaddadoom that much. Even if stern was with him. Nice Battle report btw. I would've been tempted for an inquisitor/assasin?
