Fairly simple question a few friends and I are about to play a fairly large Apoc game (25000 per side), My team is the Imperium and we are using a mixture of Imperial Guard, Imperial Navy, a Titan Legion and Space Marines. I was wondering if you are able to transport different troops in another armies transport i.e. IG Veteran in a Rhino or Space Marines in a Valkyrie?

Off Topic in case anyone is interested out Titan Legion is 2 Warhounds, 2 Reavers and a Warlord, We are then using the entire Ultramarines 1st Coy, A large SW army, An Armoured Fist Squadron and 4 Vendettas, 2 Valks and a Vulture with Punisher Cannons.

THe Apocalypse rules dont seem to care, however dedicated transports still have the rule that only the unit that bought it may start inside the transport.

Apocalypse does mention that one army's rules apply only to that army, not to their team mates. It is also designed with the idea that each separate army is controlled completely by a different player.

So allowing transports to carry units from allied armies, whilst not specifically running afoul of the special rules issue, does introduce some control issues.

So I would go with not allowing it, and treating each army as a separate entity.

I would allow it, as long as people didn't get mushy with putting Termies in Rhinos or something.

I've always toyed with having a Tallarn themed world allied with my Disciples of Caliban. I'd like to see my "Belial" with Termie Chaplain and three squads of DW Termies hop out of a Stormlord!

The way I saw it was that Guard Transports could carry standard marines at their normal capacity but Termies could only go in Land Raider or Thunderhawks.

It's Apocalypse - you and your friends are playing it for fun. This means you have to iron out these things before the game so that you don't have to stop in the middle when someone asks a question like this. Yes, that means discussing it with those that will be on the other side too.

I realise that I just wondered what others used in their games or if I had in fact missed a hard and fast rule

I would tend to let space marines ride in rhinos and guard in chimeras. Anything else would be a headache. If the issue is lack of vehicles for one of your mates, let him run something as counts as for his army as opposed to ferrying his units around.

When I play 2v2 and I have a fellow marine player we share vehicles, but then we're both marines. House rule, but it makes sense to us. A space marine is a massive dude, they wouldn't enjoy being cramped up in a chimera.

Chimeras can carry models in Terminator Armour. Rhinos can't. So I don't think lack of space in a Chimera is actually going to be an option.

To my mind, though, keeping each army completely separate is the best way to avoid problems.
