Death-Dealing Devastator

Ok I want to include DC in my 2000 point list and I was thinking of this. I know many people don't like DC much anymore but I love them still so I have to have them in my list
A 10 man squad one with a Powerfist and maybe another with a thunderhammer depending on points left-over.
and there gonna be a drop pod.
My idea is deepstrike them next to the unit I want to assault to negate the effect of rage then when I hopefully kill the squad move on to the next nearest thing, If its a tank Ill have a PW to take it out, also a TH but that depends
What do you think?

meh...
That is a LOT of points there. Somewhere around 250-300 if I'm not mistaken.
Basically what will happen is either they will get annihilated or they will spend the rest of the game chasing the shiny turbo-boosting jetbikes or something.
It would seem much better to put them in a Land Raider so they can at least move without getting baited.
Just my opinion

I wouldn't get a full squad. Two combat squad sized units are more versatile and can be either Drop podded or be Rhino borne. Do some experimenting (theroretical if need be!) to see what they really can do.

DC really do NEED a transport. As long as they are inside a transport their rage isn't going to effect them because they are embarked.
A small 6 man unit in a razorback has the benefit of not costing an arm and a leg. With 1 powerfist & 2 power weapons it's also a nasty CC squad.
A larger 10 man unit is so expensive it might just be worth it to go all out and put them in a land raider with a chaplain/reclusiarch. At 10+ strong a DC unit is already a death star unit, so treat it like a death star unit. Once they gain a chaplain bonus a power weapon DC is nastier than a LC terminator. Maybe include 3 to 4 power weapons and 1 or 2 power fists.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

In ard boyz i ran 5 death company (3 power swords) with my ruclusiarch with power fist in a razorback and in two of my three fights they charged mulitple units and wrecked face.
If you bring a larger group you are just going to waaaaay overkill most everything that you charge.

Well, I think that a DC unit should be Rhino borne as already said, since they will not rage inside a transport.
A Rhino is cheap and fast and so is absolutely sufficent for transporting the squad.

Thats 450 points gone then gurgle, before upgrades
TBH, they do fine in a Assault cannon razor.
Throw in 1-2 PW'd and a fist / hammer for tanks.
If you want to add more to it then add in a rec or chappy.
Just dont take them with packs, the price gets stupid before any upgrades are taken.

no, seriously. Dont take more than like 5 unless you have the special character and you can take multiple groups.
I play DC in all my lists and even with the 5 i bring in a razorback i dont even roll up attacks for half of them because all the enemies die prematurely in CC.
