Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Being a frequent purchaser of AT-43 and Confrontation minitures from Miniature Market I was invited to buy at special prices:

Hello,

You have ordered Rackham products from us before, so I’m contacting you about this special Miniature Market offer. We are clearing out some excess inventory of AT-43 and Confrontation, and we are offering huge discounts up to 90% off for many of these items.

Attached is an Excel order form with the list of items we are heavily discounting. The SRP price, web price, and the special price are all detailed in the file. This sale cannot be found on our website and is not open to the general public. Free shipping on orders over $75 (no P.O. Box) still applies to U.S. addresses.

This is a one-time offer and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The sale will end as soon as we clear out enough inventory, so please place any orders within the next few days.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE OR YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE DISCOUNTS LISTED. PLEASE FILL OUT THE EXCEL FORM AND EMAIL IT TO.....

The email address was the same as the billing address and after my order I got an invoice from Miniature Market and paid to their account, same as usual so the sale offer looks real enough. The prices were damn good and I suggest if anyone here has bought Rackham stuff from Miniture Market in past check their inboxes, and if needed their junk mail stash and pick up some bargains.

Despite getting a good deal, I am not sure what to read of this. Does this mean Rackham are restructuring their supply, does this mean MM are giving up on them, does this mean a supply failure in the US? The good news of a very generous sale offer normally only speaks of bad news long term, at best we are looking at old boxsets being obsolete as Rackham repackage everything as part of a revamp, at worst a hand washing of this business. Allowing for Rackhams piss poor business performance in the past I am not sure which way to see this.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I wouldn't read too much into it.

I have a feeling MM is just trying to move stock that has been sitting around for a while.

MM has stock levels on its website, Confronation stuff has a reasonably high turnover, admittedly it has that highturnover while on heavy discount sale. I dont think much of it will sell at RRP.

There are some interesting things coming down the pipe for both systems(more it seems for CAoR than AT, though), including perhaps a couple new ways to play around in Aarklash.

If you were looking at buying stuff for Confragadoodle, I'd take advantage of this.

I just bought a load of stuff direct from Rackham at 50% off.
(will be using it for SotTR). Sale is finished now but at one point they wrote to tell me that they'd run out of Fire Toads (on my order) but later found a couple.
The majority of AT43 was in the sale. To me this sounds like bad news for AT43 & Rackham.
I always loved their metal Confrontation models and was disappointed that they went over to prepainted minis.
As for Confrontation / Ragnorak, there are now only 4 races available, no devourers, no orks or gobbos & not a pointy ear in site.
It's a bit sad in my opinion.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

There's still PDF rules for every race that was made.

As well, Pointy Ears players may be a bit happier by the end of the year.

Rackham is having sales like this every other month. With 50% off, no custiooms and free shipping it can be reasonable enough to make an order. at any other time Rackham can whistle for my money the price in Euros is just not viable.

I hear that a lot, dont agree with it though, some of the ranges looked good, some didnt appeal to me. I dont like Rackhams goblins or dwarves, I think GW do a much better job for both. The Elves can be a bit meh too.
The Wolven looked fantastic though.

Five with a sixth available this year, pointy ears should be in sight in the autumn.
so far the factions released are:

Light: Griffin (relgious fundamentalist 'Empire') and Lion ('Bretonnians')

Destiny: Wolf and soon ?Scarab? (Wood Elves)

Darkness: Scorpion (monster cult) and Ram (undead)

I hope they stop at eight or nine factions, do an orc faction a dwarf faction and one other so they dont overstretch. Rackham has more factions for Confronation than GW has for Warhammer but is much smaller. They cannot possibly have as large a range as they envisioned if the factions are larger than a few skirmish models each.

Secrets of the Third Reich by West Wind - WW2 fantasy/sci-fi set in 1949 with werewolves, zombies, vampires & mechanised walkers as well as all the other WW2 goodness (models that is, not the actual war itself)
