So I decided I would attempt a scratch built titan. I thought it would be prudent to build the smallest titan, so I decided I would build a Paladin. I scoured the net to find pictures of Paladin titans.
First I found an Epicast version:
I did not like the roundedness of this model, so I kept searching.
Then I found this picture:
Now this is more my style! I really like this!
I don't like the legs though, so I decide to make the legs look more like the IG Sentinel.
This looks better to me, so now I have to draw up some plans...
And here they are:
I have not designed the arms/weapons yet, but this is the main body. Rivets and other detail is not shown.
I am not sure how I am going to build the head, but I think I have a good idea on how to make the rest. I will also pose the titan
to make it more dynamic on its base. Ok, so I am off to the model shop to buy some supplies and get started. Please feel free to
comment, and my next post will be soon.

BTW, shameless nitpick, a Paladin is a "KNIGHT" and not a "TITAN". The smallest class titan is the warhound. Still an awesome idea though, as the Knights were really cool in epic.

Knights are more like giant Dreadnoughts instead of titans. Still they are really cool. Good luck on building it.

Ok, I have bought some styrene and I have started to make pieces. The first lesson I have learned so far is DO NOT TRY TO CUT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE PLASTIC!! Also I learned not to keep making several cuts in the same groove. It makes for really wavey edges. So I score the plastic with one clean straight cut and then do the bend and snap. Nice clean line! As soon as I start some gluing, I will post some pictures.
Also, sorry about my ignorance! I thought the Knight was the smallest titan, but it appears to be a class by itself. Also, I found some pictures of some very similar models on a french web site that I could not translate, leading me to believe that I am basing my model on a previously released model. If anybody knows what company makes this model, and the name of the model, please let me know.

Knight titans are the smallest class of titan AFAIK... At least, they were called knight titans in the old epic books
I like your design Ju Ju Eyeball, looking forward to the execution. If you need inspiration, there's quite a few knights threads here on dakka.

I spent three hours last night (until 1:00am) cutting styrene and gluing. Here are some of the things I have learned. When using the bend and snap method, leave a little to bend and snap! If your cut is close to the edge of the plastic, it is a pain in the arse to bend. Another thing I have learned is the plastic has a thickness. >DUH!< You have to allow for that when cutting. ALSO... pieces at an angle grow in length, you must account for that too. So I have finally glued together the base of the body, the back and some inside supports.
Tada!
Here is a different view...
And here is one with a space marine for a size comparison.
I will upload some pictures of my Space Marine Chapter, the Death Angels to the gallery soon.
Please comment and critque...

More progress on my paladin! At first I thought that the GW super glue would not be good, but so far it seems to be holding pretty strong. I have a few gaps that I need to fill with some putty and a little cleaning up, but it looks pretty good to me so far. I am going to the model store tomorrow to buy some putty. After I get it cleaned up, I will add the neck shroud and then add some hatches, handles exhaust ports and rivets. So let me show you some pictures:
Here is the front. You can see a few of the cracks here. I also cut a hole for the crew access hatch. Cutting a round hole is HARD!!
Here is the back. I am going to put two large exhaust ports here. I bought some fine metal mesh to put in the ports. Hope it turns out good!
Here are the left and right sides. I plan on putting access hatches on the lower part of the sides, and the arms of course will be on the top.
Here is the front again, with a Rhino top hatch on. I thought it would be a nice tie in to other space marines vehicles.
While I was eating a push-up ice cream, I noticed the plunger was exactly the right size to become part of the waist. I also found a real neat bit that is a round plate with bolts in it, that will become the bottom of the waist, and will have plastic peg sticking out it to put it on the legs. This way, the waist can swivel, and the body can be removed to be put in the case.
I think I have some ideas of how I am going to create the head. I do know that it too will be removable for transportation. I have also designed the left hand close combat weapon, a chain sword. I will put that drawing up soon.
Please let me know what you think, I really enjoy constructive comments!

"The most important innovation that the Tech-Priests brought to the Knight Worlds were the fighting machines also called Knights. These machines were one-man versions of a Titan, much smaller and less powerful than a real Titan, but much better suited to the mobile style of warfare prevalent amongst the nobility of the Knight Worlds."
So, kind of but not really a 'real' Titan...
As for the actual topic: Looks to be developing nicely.
As this will be an ongoing project, I am moving it over to the Blogs section.

I knew I had read it somewhere! Thanks for finding Insaniak!
Ju Ju Eyeball: I built my knight with nothing but superglue, and it worked out fine. Also, I would advise against anything but rough detailing right now: if you build the basic body first, you'll have a better idea of what goes where and you'll be able to build the detail in logical places.
Looking forward to your take on the knigh titan!
