I've been debating making an Ironclad army but Blood Angels do it better.

I could drop some power weapons and a pfist in the Death Company unit to switch out the storm bolters on the Dreads for Heavy Flamers.

Furioso Dreadnaught [Blood Fist X 2, Melta, Storm Bolter] 125
Furioso Dreadnaught [Blood Fist X 2, Melta, Storm Bolter] 125

This is completely ridiculous and I would love to see this army played in an actual game. Just hope for Annihilation I guess.

But I would take more Blood Talons, and try to fit in some Librarian Dreadnoughts as well.

This is a giggle list.
Annihilation...Well unless they spam AT you'll do fine.
Capturing 1 point should be fine AFAIK because DC are troops, no?
More than 1 point and you play the contesting game.
It's not that bad though, most people I play only want annihilation anyway

IIRC Death company are troops but not scoring. The list doesn't seem bad to me but you will be playing to table on objective missions.

It's true this is a one trick pony list with no hopes of winning objective missions.

I do like the idea of librarian dreads, what would be the best psychic load out? Wings and Blood Lance?

I have to squeeze 150 pts out of some where but the idea of 3 Dcompany dreads fleeting and 3 Ldreads flying at you with Mephiston is a cute idea.

Im a big fan of dread heavy lists, I can usually win with my 5 dread vanilla SM list, so your list should work.

Good luck.

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.

Up in your base, killin' all your doods.

If this list can table people it would be awesome, otherwise not so much in objectives, since you have no scoring units.

9 Dreads, you could probably take some people out with that.

You dont need to score, just contest, and if you table them you always win. The big problem with your list is range fire power and since you are walking all your dreads up and they are all melta dreads then they can easily be popped from a distance. Hope you like them shaken not stirred.

I think you would benefit from dropping some points *somewhere* for pods. Those dreads would really benefit from pods.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

Pods are where its at, especially if you can hit the magic number of pods so half of them come in first turn all up in your opponents face.

He doesn't need pods, he has safety through target saturation.

I would recommend dropping Meph for a Reclusiarch to go with the DC, and then using the saved points to upgrade the Furiosos to librarian dreads with blood lance and wings. That gives you speed and some ranged hitting power to mitigate your short range.

You could also take a single unit of sniper scouts with cloaks to camp an objective in your deployment zone to allow you a better chance of winning objective missions, although I know that runs counter to the theme, but it turns this into a viable list.

I like it Dave, you should give it a go. I have 7 Dreads myself, I may have to assemble a Vanilla dread list and we can have a robot death match!

Here is v2.0

15 Death Company 300
Reclusiarch [Melta Bombs] 135
LRC [Multi-Melta] 260

Death Company Dreadnought [Melta, Sbolter, Talons X2] 125
Death Company Dreadnought [Melta, Sbolter, Talons X2] 125
Death Company Dreadnought [Melta, Sbolter, Talons X2] 125

Furioso Librarian [Force Weapon, Sbolter, Fist, Lance, Wings] 175
Furioso Librarian [Force Weapon, Sbolter, Fist, Lance, Wings] 175
Furioso Librarian [Force Weapon, Sbolter, Fist, Lance, Wings] 175

Dreadnought [Fist, Multi-Melta] 105
Dreadnought [Fist, Multi-Melta] 105
Dreadnought [Fist, Multi-Melta] 105

Landspeeder [Heavy Bolter, Typhoon] 90

2000 Pts

I could drop the LRC and the Typhoon
add 3 Baal Preds with Assualt cannons for a fast Screen.
Switch the Dreads to Dual auto cannons.
The death company would be walking at that point.

Dropping the typhoon almost gets you 3 drop pods, then load out the heavies with lascannons.

I agree with snickerdoodle that adding las cannons to the heavy support dreads would be a smart play, but I disagree on needing the drop pods. That is just my opinion, though, as there certainly is utility in dropping 2 dreads turn 1 into enemy lines. The only problem with that I find is that I find is that drop units rarely survive a turn as they are conveniently in melta range of th enemy.

If you foot slog the DC, that isn't necessarily a bad play as the rest of your army is moving at roughly the same speed.

Some Baals would be clutch and add a lot of firepower but the LRC adds nearly as much and it delivers the DC. That is a tough call, I would have to vote that the Baals would be the more powerful choice.

Again, I know this is a for fun list, but consider a cheap scoring unit to make this list viable for competitive play. All you need is to hold one objective to win in most cases, but if you just want a funny army, then this certainly does it while also being very hard hitting.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

LOL. My Chaoszilla army would love to game with you:

Daemon Prince x 2, misc powers
Greater Daemon
Dreadnought x 3, 2nd DCCW, Heavy Flamer, EA
Defiler x 3, 4 DCCW
3 x Chaos Space Marines x 5, Rhino
2 x Summoned Lesser Daemons x 8

Hell, I'd say we just play Annihilation regardless of what the dice say!
