I'm considering putting together a force where just about everyone rides in razorbacks. Good idea? Bad idea? some versions good/bad? Please note it would be with 5 or so combat squads and 3 sternguards, or something similar.

Razorbacks are an excellent choice. I use 6 of them in some of my builds.

It depends on the overall army composition, obviously, but in a hard core alpha strike shooty army, they add a ton of firepower.

The benefits of razorbacks are:

1.) Move and shoot
2.) Each one can fire at a separate target
3.) Each one is an individual target itself, making them harder to destroy through target saturation
4.) Obviously, transport capability

As with almost everything in this game, the more of them you have, the better they will perform. If you take one or two, they wont do much, if you have 6 or more, you hit critical mass and your enemy will most likely be unable to deal with them.

In my Ard Boyz list, I had 6 of them all with either twin las or twin assault cannons and they were pure murder.

So if you decide to build a list with lots of razorbacks, build the list around the concept and go all out shooty death with some minimal counter assault ability and play the alpha strike. You will often find that you win the game in the first turn with a good shooty list that gets first turn.

One note from an inexperienced player: one of the only advantages of the dark angels codex is that a 5 man squad can get an assault weapon. Their razorbacks are 10 points more expensive, though (5 points with HBs & pintle storm bolter), so it might be a wash.

"Well, isn't the enemy of your enemy, like, your friend? Or whatever? Can't they team up?"
"Not exactly. In this setting, the enemy of your enemy is still a floating, greasy, armored brain."
"Well, what about his enemy? Maybe you could be friends with him."
"No, because that guy is a mechanical horror in an undying battle shell. He sails from world to world in a flying tomb, serving gods who eat hope."

DA mech spam is actually a decent list.

But wolves, vanilla and BA do it so much better.

I spam 'backs in my SW list, they are awesome, in 6 5-man squads 3 with Plasmaguns ride in Ass-cannon backs and 3 with meltas ride in Bolter-backs I then have a Dakka-pred to add additional firepower.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

So, this is probably a YMDC, but can a 10 man tactical squad take 2 razorbacks? Because I want to be able to take special weapons in the 5 man squads, and you need to combat squad to do that...

Nope. a 10 man squad may take a single Razorback. They can combat squad and 1/2 can ride in it or they can stay a full 10 man and the RB is a guntruck.

I like this:

10 Tactical Marines
Melta Gun
Melta Bombs
Plasma Cannon
Razorback
Assault Cannons

Can deal with armor, and MeQ's, will have a fun time against hordes though, all of that for 260 points!

i LIKE THE heavy bolter/ flamer combo on the marines and then give the razor back the las/plas combo.

or meltagun/ multamelta combo with twinlink hvybolter.

or plas/las on troops and assaltcannons on the razor back.

My Hq rides in a razor back some times with a twin link heavy flamer too.. but there all great in some way but never get the twinlink las for the same price you can get twinlink plasma and las....

I prefer BA Assault Squad w/ Melta, fist and assault cannons.
