Just wondered if anyone had seen this - I saw it today and was quite impressed. Place eggs in cardboard miniature case and drop from a speeding white van....

pretty sweet. I don't get it, though. They broke all the eggs at the end, so what was the point in keeping them safe?

Unwatchable.
The first minute+ is them loading the eggs and backing up the van... fething riveting gents. I can't bring myself to watch 5+ minutes of this.

Naw, it's somebody else.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do |

To be fair, while the second one was thrown while he was going faster, they looked like different eggs to me, might just be the brightness thing.
tbh, the first one wasn't really speeding at all.

I'm not really surprised that the eggs weren't broken, just think back to your school physics/tech lessons; who didn't make an egg container to test forces. Pretty simple to protect eggs IIRC. It seemed a sound/realistic test though. I can not imagine a case being involved with much more than dropping or even dropping from a moving bus. This did however demostrate that the cases were good at containing their loads, even the cardboard box didn't come open. I'm fairly sure the plastic catches on the GW one I have would spill open if dropped, never mind from a moveing [all be it slowly] vehicle. I would suggest a better test would be to see how they react when a fuller load is contained and or loosely held as an army of minis would be, there was allot of foam per egg. Still kudos to KR for showing what there basic products are capable of.

Well the test video would be pointless if they cutted/edited the video.

These cases are great. If I wasn't already in possession of a few hundred dollars worth of GW cases I'd switch over.

Eggs don't actually break particularly easily unless they suffer a direct blow. The could always put actual miniatures in there. I mean if it's that safe then they'll have no issue putting their personal collection in it. :p

To be honest i think if a miniature is not snuggly fixed inside the foam ( like the eggs) and its a bit loose it would probably break... Nevertheless the boxes look quite resistant to abuse and they have very good prices... Nice stuff. Oh and they have a lot more options for foam after the last time I checked them.

Really? The video would be pointless if they edited it? Did you watch the same video I did?
I admit my initial reaction was harsh, but to say they couldn't edit/ cut some of the 5 minutes out is sill. For example, they could have cut the 25 seconds of him backing the car up. No significant change to the video.

If the action is cutted for 1 second and you take your eyes from the box then nothing can tell you that in the cut they didnt changed whats inside the box or the box etc... thats the point of not editing that vid.

I bet you could do that test using just the foam and some rubber bands holding the foam together.
Its not the case thats protecting the eggs, its the foam.
The case is protecting the foam and the foam is protecting the eggs. You could replace the case with pretty much anything, a shoe box would work just as well.
Im not in the least impressed by that vid.
