Yeah, going to avoid the late-term 2nd edition shenanigans. Curbs on that stuff, as well as vortex and virus, as well as the heavy Herohammer.

Reasons why modern 40K can bite me, #114:

Astra Militarum Hydra
BS 3
Armour: Standard Chimera stats
Tank, Open-Topped
Two twin-linked Hydra Autocannons (Identical stats, except: Heavy 2, Skyfire)
Squadron special rules: No
Formation special rules: No

Adeptus Astartes Stalker
BS4
Armour: Same as the Hydra, EXCEPT: two points better side armour.
Tank
Icarus Stormcannon Array (Identical stats, except: Heavy 3, Interceptor, Skyfire, TWIN-LINKED OR CAN SPLIT FIRE)
Squadron special rules: Yes
Formation special rules: Yes

---

For 5 points, you get formation and squadron special rules, better armour, better BS, and a better gun.

As a friend said, this isn't power creep. It's a power drag-race.

Belated congrats on the 100 page mark.

I miss the old defoliant missiles. I used to set my devastators up in woods all the time and be in cover until my opponent had to go into no mans land. Fire defoliant, then let loose hell on the enemy with the rest.

An INTACT Aquila Lander? HERESY!

PS: I see the original design, and I wish I could have gotten an actual FW one, because the cargo bay can swing down between the landing legs.

But, beggars can't be choosers. And she's still beeyoouutiiifulllllllll.

Getting prepped to run a group of people through some old school 40K. Since, you know, points are pretty much optional.

If we're going to have all these Titans around, it is time to finish the Forgeworld of Titansreach...

What's that Ordinatus Falchen doing there? Well, it seems a nearby Necron Cairn has been re-discovered...

And, defending the Ordinatus is this orbital platform, clearly marked by the servants of the Imperium as a Zone Mortalis...

And THAT is what I've been doing, lately. Nothing like a Saturday of scenario-based gaming to push the terrain out of the boxes, and onto the table!

Looking really good, will you post it to me? Just for a weekend like. Nice to see the Ordinatus busted out too, have you fired it in anger yet? I still remember your promise of ICBM support in my next Apoc game!

It has yet to be fired in anger.

Do you want the ordinatus, or the entire cityfight table posted to you?

Well, as I am working my way out of 40K, that may happen.

Side note:

I just spray primed 50 miniatures dark blue, because DAMN I have gotten lazy. I just want the miniatures done, and looking good under the "Three Foot Rule". Heh. I used to be so detail-oriented...

Starting to put the Games Workshop Imperial Guard Bunker together. Need to finish lining the creases with black, and do some painting touchups to hide some of the blue, then I will mount it to a base, and flock.

I love these pieces, and the entire line of "bulkhead" terrain is worth emulation.

The runs of cardboard terrain that are out there, now, are the spiritual descendants of these works of art.

It's time to deal with this pile of plastic. In parallel with a massive eBay purge, I am going to speed-assemble-and-paint the remainder of my Imperial Guard.

Ready?

Round One, Imperial Hellhound...

FIGHT!
