So, a friend of mine recently purchased Thraka. When fielding him, this has led to many questions about whether he has a power klaw.

My argument is thus:

Thraka is given furious charge (+1 strength and +1 initiative) as he's already at S10, this makes +1 strength useless and as it's a Power Klaw, +1 Initiative is useless as well.

However the Ork player says that he does have a Power Klaw due to him having Mega-Armour and therefore points me at Page 39 of the Ork 'Dex where it states that Mega-armour automatically confers a Power Klaw.

So, who's in the right here?

This is true.

He is. Mega Armour comes with a power klaw, as per the codex entry.

I assumed it would be.

Seems VERY illogical to give him Furious Charge though.

It just comes as part of the standard Ork special rules.

When it was written, though, the rules allowed you to forgo use of a special weapon. So, he could make use of it in 4e, I believe.

Useless, yes, but Ork Warlords all get it. Makes no difference, really.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

It's not, and here is why.

In 4th edition, when the codex was written, you had the option of turning "off" Power Klaws and Fists and instead hitting at normal Strength and Initative. It's also why he has Stikkbombs. So, in 4th, he had the option of being S10 I1 on the charge or S6 I5 on the charge.

5th Edition changed that however.

Also if in some future he's against something that would lower his Str below 10 then the +1 from FC would be nice

Both of you. He has a power klaw, and for all intents and purposes, FC does nothing.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there?
