Not sure if this is the right forum or not for this, but if it isnt then I apologies.
Anyway I am going to be selling my chaos army and possibly all of my other collection . Firstly lets start with the chaos . I have around 2000pts or more of chaos. Everything is made and at least base coated or to a "desent" standard. However the majority of it is in my own personal colour scheme and there is some slight green stuff conversion on them. This conversion can be easily scraped off if nessary and will not damge the models structure. It could damage the paint job though .I will try to get some pictures uploaded as a picture does speak a thousand words. I could just undercoat the entire army or I could just get them all to nice standard (refering to the basecoated ones) . Or should I just leave the ones in my own colour scheme and just keep the base coated ones as they are ? . I really do think a picture would help.
Also would you recommend selling them as a whole or in units or try to get some buyers that are after specific units ?.

The things in my army are as follows.

Plastic terminator Lord
Metal daemon Prince

10 Terminators
A venerable Dreadnought converted to chaos

A defiler
3 vindicators

25 -30 chaos marines
8 noise marines ( all with sonic weapons)
Plague marines ( In their original Nurgal colour scheme with some added greenstuff)

2 bikes

I also have a soul grinder but I wouldnt cosider this part of my army but I would still like to sell it .It is fully made and painted.
In addition I have some legion of the damed , before any one complains I know they are for space marines. Yet they are on my desk painted and not part of the chaos army .

So if you have any more questions feel free to ask .I was hopeing maybe for some price ranges . What you would suggest and so on.

Thank you

I would leave the painting as is - chances are, whoever buys it will want to either strip or repaint the models so there is no point adding extra work for yourself; it won't add extra value.

Pics will help, make sure they are of a reasonable standard so people can see what's what.

Probably best to split the army up - I would have said it would be fairly unusual for someone to want the whole lot rather than specific units. That being said, someone might be starting a chaos army afresh. Best to put in swap shop and see what people ask for.

Price wise - I don't know, clearly it will be less than RRP. I would have a look through swap shop threads and get a gauge of prices there. Better to start slightly higher and then reduce in price than start low and sell for not much. You can always reduce the price if interest is low.

Nearly everybody that buys used models wants to buy stuff as close to unpainted and unbuilt as possible, meaning that you dont' want to put any more time into it as possible. Yes, you will sometimes find people that actually want painted squads or armies, but they are the exception, not the rule.

the only two times paint adds to either the value or the appeal of used lot is if it's truly amazing (large tournament best painted level), or is an off the shelf hot build, but even then the list is more important than the paint.

Filbert's advice is pretty spot on.
