Subject: TALES FROM THE JAIL: A rose by any other name....
An inmate with a normal everyday name, we'll give an example...
McLaury, Antwan (false name to protect the stupid)
Had his name changed today legally. His new facecard reads...
Supreme, Metafizik Electromatic (mispelled to protect the galactically stupid)
Amazed, while feeding today, I asked him..."I dont mean to insult you dude, but, how did you come up with THAT name?"
"Yo man, I changed from my slave name. Stronger name makes me stronger!", all the while looking at me in a menacing manner as if to confront me if I had anything disrespectful to say.
"Did you say a dumber name makes you dumber?" I asked him laughing. "What?!", "Nothing dude...keep moving."
I wonder if the guy even knows what Metaphysics are.
Shane McSuperb signing out!

Actually it's a picture of a portrayal of a German who tried to assassinate Hitler.
Yes, we all saw Valkyrie. And by we all I mean very few people went to see valkyrie. Regardless though, not everyones gonna draw the connection. you're better off with a better movie and a more successful hitler assassination attempt in your avatar.

Shuma, are you somehow attempting to suggest that the idea of changing your name into a monstrosity like that is anything less than wildly stupid?
We're not talking about a rapper taking a stage name. We're talking about a guy that works for a roofing company when not in jail(an equivalent job to what he actually does), was born in the united states, and has a family. In fact, the ACTUAL reasoning behind his name change, since its this name doesnt appear to have any religious value as some that change their names to Islamic oriented names do, is more than likely to HIDE his identity from others...he simply "flaired it up" for his own personal taste....which happenst to be very bad.
Normal people DO NOT, change their name for essentially no reason (as in this case) to ridiculous strings of words.
It isnt normal. It IS stupid, regardless if he's looking for my blessing on the matter or not.

Dude lives in a jail. I don't really think he's worried about how it's going to look on a resume.

You didn't answer my original question though.

normal people (I use the word in the loosest sense) are also not in jail.

I think the point of my original post was to note the fact that he doesn't give a gak what you think and is more concerned in what his peers within the prison think.
Again. What do they think of it?

Maybe he SHOULD be. For, you know, when he gets out?
You didn't answer my original question though.
No he isnt looking for my acceptance, doesnt change the fact that this action he's taken is slowed.
normal people (I use the word in the loosest sense) are also not in jail.
Actually, there are quite a few NORMAL people in jail. Anyone can wind up here. Jail is peopled by much more than just ganstas and illegals shuma. There are many normal people who are inmates in here too...they just arent interesting to talk about.
Again. What do they think of it?
If they have an iota of sense...probably the same as I/we others in this thread do.

Irrelevant. Clearly he isn't that concerned. What's his sentence?

What the feth is a normal person? That concept is so loaded it's ridiculous. You're discussing this on a toy website about tiny plastic men with a rob zombie avatar. How many people would consider you or me abnormal? As it is the vast majority of the population isn't in jail. So by that metric it's not normal.
If they have an iota of sense...probably the same as I/we others in this thread do.
You could have saved yourself several posts and just said 'I don't know'.

Some guy changed his name to 'Stormhammer Deathclaw Firebrand'.
I bet the chap mentioned in the OP just wanted a weird name to make himself stand out a bit more. After all, being a roofer and spending some time in jail is hardly going to break a lot of ice at social functions.

His name has a reference to Fallout in it, this renders your point void.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

I knew a man who changed his surname to Shaw. He had the misfortune to be born into a family with an unusual hyphenated surname.
His original surname was Shaw-Twilley. No joke, he was a teacher at our school and we were expressly warned before he came never to tease him on it. we were a well behaved school in a better behaved age so noone ever did.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Not that long.
That wasn't my question.
You asked if he was looking for my acceptance of his name, I indicated that he probably was not.
What the feth is a normal person?
You tell me. You're the one that used the term in the first place by saying that NORMAL people dont go to jail. So Shuma, tell us, what IS a normal person.
You could have saved yourself several posts and just said 'I don't know'.
You could save yourself some posts, defending people whom are so imbalanced (as this name suggests) that YOU couldnt possibly have the faintest idea what goes thru their heads.
You asked if he was looking for my acceptance of his name, I indicated that he probably was not.
What do his friends think of it? Lets be real here, he's not trying to get your support for it.
No, actually it appears that I didn't ask that. In fact I asked the opposite.

No, actually it appears that I didn't say that first. You did. Strike two!

....I do.
Yeah, I'm sure being a prison guard comes with a complimentary PhD in psychology. Aaaaaaaaaaaand your off the field. 0 for three!
But then he wouldn't get to be an argumentative asshat, Shane!
I thought I told you to go see the better movie?
