Sisters of battle aren't space marines - not remotely.

With that out of they way, I have some critiques - I'll only point out the things you've got wrong, because that's the only way we grow. And I'm only commenting on what you've portrayed, not the art itself - I'm not qualified for that.

She has an 'I' tattooed on her cheek. The Sisters are the chamber militant of the Ordo Hereticus, but that role is a very distant second to their main purpose, the army of the church. A Fleur de Lis or an Aquila would be much more appropriate.

She has a giant 'stab me here please' gap in her armour which serves no purpose other than showing off her shapely collar bone and swan-like neck.

I cannot remotely work out how a sealed helm is supposed to fit that armour.

Her backpack and greaves seem almost identical to those worn by Space Marines. I do however, salute you for not giving her high heels - far too many artists do.

The ejection port on that bolter is on the wrong side - guns, even in the 41st milenium, are generally designed not to eject hot brass toward the user.

Suspenders!? Really?

The general design of the upper-body armour calls to mind the lorica segmenta - which is about the last thing which should come to mind when looking at power armour. 40k's power armour aesthetic is very much cenntered on large, smooth, plates abutting at the joints.

The level of detail is admirable, but the pose is really stiff and unnatural looking. Human beings don't stand bolt upright unless they're at attention or in a parade march. Even in bulky armor, we're still made of curves, not straight lines.

Which Sisters of Battle armor right now doesn't have-- the gap I mean. Gimme a moment and I'll find something...

There, notice the chin armor even without the helmet?
Suspenders!? Really?
Garters actually. It's unfortunately an aspect of some of the current miniatures, which I absolutely despise.

The general design of the upper-body armour calls to mind the lorica segmenta - which is about the last thing which should come to mind when looking at power armour. 40k's power armour aesthetic is very much cenntered on large, smooth, plates abutting at the joints.
It doesn't look very good to me, either. I think a single curved plate with a fleur de lys on the center would work better for the chest, and for the abdomen, a segmented piece like the Astartes.

If you're going to design a new set of Sisters of Battle armor, I'd reccomend doing it something like one of these two for the chest:

Mostly, notice the single curved plate.Add a Fleur on the middle and it'd look very much appropriate.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I like it if that counts for anything OP, and for a first time sketch it's not like you won't improve.

In the grim darkness of the far future the Sisters of Battle armour their breasts individually, and adorn them with skulls/other symbols. There can be no other way.

Colossal Donkey: My opinion on the vomit John Blanche calls art is well known, so I don't want to start that discussion again.

All art is personal taste I guess. Obviously there are vastly more skilled artists, but I guess it just feels right for me. He expressed his ideas in a way that everyone can recognise. It may have dated but it still has value and has more soul than this...

Nothing wrong with this image, it's beautiful. Just does not do it for me.

but so not to de-rail the thread direct me to your previous Blanche rant...

*shrug* do a search of my posts, it shouldn't be hard to find. Here's the previous discussion though, after a cursory search.

As far as soul goes, that codex cover has none.

Being an artist my self I'd have to say it's a very well done attempt.
I can see the constuction lines and the odd line correction under the tonning (I like that becouse you can see the work you have poured into it )

There are some niggles like the pose, armour build and the main layout of the anatomical form (the legs for the most part, but i think you already know that), I'm not being critical just saying that becouse I dout you have taken Life drawing classes. Which concidering is not bad.

One bit of free advice, try drawing people in magazines. The whole image not just the face...some of the glossy mens (yes p0rn) mags are good for annotomical studdies. Also try using a mechanical pencil then once your happy with the base line go over with the softer tonner pencil.

I know it's hard to draw any humanoid form (let alone sticking armour on it), perticuly from out of your minds eye and this is a very good attempt.

Keep it up, you can only improve upon your skills.

Personally, I like it, but it needs bigger 80085.

All the arguments that the SoB shouldn't have so much breast-eses are laughable, imho. The SM armor highlights their massive shoulders (as if shoulders were anymore important than say, the groin area) which is a sign of their masculinity; why wouldn't the females be styled in a way to highlight their feminity?

Broad Shoulders and large square jaw are a sign of masculinity, and it's highlighted in the helms and shoulders of the SM armor. Breasts and curvature are a sign of feminity, and it should be highlighted as well. Otherwise, just paint some of your ultramarines pink and say there are females inside the suit.

P.S. It also resembles your avatar, which I assume is you?

The arm holding the bolter is a little stubby. At first I kinad thought she was holding the gun in some way to be blasting someone off in her peripheral.

And my only real complaint is that even though they are women, and do in fact have boobs, the fact that they are indeed wearing POWER ARMOR, should imply a little more bulk to the overall design. It looks like she's wearing some kind of studded leather curiass with skulls tied to them.

And the she should have more curvy hips, since the straightness of them currently makes her more masculine.

Otherwise keep at it, maybe do as Ribon Fox suggests and do a little anatomical studies.

All in all, though, I rather like the design. Just trying to be helpful first and foremost, though. The whole point of art though, is doing what you like. (Unless you plan on selling it. Dx)

I feel like a traitor to my gender for saying this but the "breast" bit of her breast plate seem to protrude further than they should.

As it is, my first thought if I were to face her in battle would be, "By the emperior she is stacked" my second thought would most likely be pain.
