If I'm correct, the whole tank is huge, and doubles as an APC, they could make it super heavy because it never has to be transported around half the globe, since it for use in and around their own country.
Ok I think I have another tank in mind now.... anyone help me out? :(

The one in the first picture is a Merkava IV, the turret looks very different to earlier models (like the crashed one) because of all the extra armour stuck on it.

It's a 120mm cannon mind you, The barrel looks smaller because of the huge turret size
Also, since we'r turning this into the tank topic.
What's everybody's favorite?
Mine's either the the Tiger, or T90 (this is purely based on looks not so much on performance)

Glad you recognized the humor. Was expecting some disgruntled person to come out of no where and give me a tongue lashing for that
My favorites are the Tiger and the T34.

The Merkava is pretty cool. Looks like a 105mm from this image though.
Soladrin has good taste in tanks though I would opt for The Panther and the Comet.

One of the largest tanks ever designed. A model has been built but one of them has never actually been built.

There is actually one that was planned by germany that there isn't even relaly concept art for called the Monster. Here are some of the largest commisioned tanks on the planet, some of which didn't get past the planning stage. This is a comparison chart:
The Ratte was very similar to the Monster. It was also designed in 1942 and it was also cancelled within little more than a year. Unlike the Monster, the Ratte were supposed to be armed with a warship turret with two 280 mm cannons. Other armaments on the Ratte would have included a 128 mm cannon, eight 20 mm anti-aircraft guns and a few 15 mm machine guns. Automatically Appended Next Post: Crew of 20 for the Ratte. Crew of 100 for the Monster.

This is my favourite tank; the 38(t). The best German tank they never made (It's Czechoslovakian). Its chassis served in various forms from medium tank to recon tank, tank hunter and more throughout the war and was part of the E-series project. Continued in service until the 1960s with various countries.
A shame it was never given a chance to fight nazis in 1938.

I believe the monster's main gun was two 650mm (could be wrong) cannons. It was basically a battleship turret on treads. The idea cooked up by the German designers were incredibly "optimistic".
The Panther Ausf. G was plenty good, I like the T-34/85, the M1A1 Abrams has to be me favorite. Never has been one lost to enemy fire. Only accidental shootings by other Abrams and a dip into the Euphrates for another.
The Challenger is a great old soldier!

Personally this is my favorite. Any tank known to have actually shot down an enemy plane is okay in my books. You can also see the german transition from sharp edges to smooth curves. Similar to the volkswagen.

My favourites are the Churchill and Centurion.
The Centurion is quite probably the best tank ever built. It was the first of the vehicles that we would describe as a modern battle tank, unlike the more specised and irregularly shaped vehicles of WW2 and had less of the drawbacks. It was well armoured and relatively fast. It moved with the ages, upgrading form a 17 pounder to a 20 pounder to a 105mm main gun and has been adapted to many specialist uses. It's fought in more wars than any other western tank including the Korean War, Suez, Yom Kippur war, Vietnam war and Gulf war. It has been in armed forces all around the world and has been in service longer than almost anything else. Introduced in 1945 it was still being used in the first Gulf War in 1991, and that's just the UK. The IDF used them in Lebanon in 2006.

Point is, at the time those tanks wouldn't have been able to move, nor could they make a chassis that could actually support those armaments and the armor itself.

Even if they could move there are other problems. For instance, the Maus was too big and heavy for railway cars and most bridges. They developed a snorkle kit for the Maus to go underwater, but really not being able to use road bridges is a major hinderance. And not being able to transport vehicles by air or rail makes it difficult to deploy them anywhere. The Maus was only fit for a defensive war, which it was by that point but still a massive drawback.
