Hey guys, I'm fairly new around here, thought I'd let you see my first proper conversion for some C&C and your viewing pleasure .
It's meant to resemble Idranel of Ulthwe an Eldar farseer from the game Dawn of War 2.
The head was my first ever sculpt with green stuff, from the neck upwards is all me, I also had to sculpt the arms and hands from the elbow down aswell as the
tabard along with numerous little things like gems.
Below the pics I've included the plans I used to come up with it for anyone that wants to try there hand at it, not overly in depth but maybe itll help (I didnt use that head in
the plans in the end simply because it would have been quite expensive and might not have been the right scale).

thanks for the nice comments guys, always appreciated.
To respond to Lexx I hadnt planned on making an army I do have some of the new(ish) Rangers and a Wraithlord but I only got them cause they looked good .
To respond to jamunition all I can do is briefly tell you what I did as I didnt take any pictures as I was doing it (I'm impulsive that way ).
Firstly you need to get the Eldar Farseer with Witchblade model and secondly you need to get the Warlock with Singing Spear and Shuriken Pistol model, links below.
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1300045&prodId=prod280003a&rootCatGameStyle=

You don't really have to get the Warlock spear if you don't want to as Idranel uses a Witchblade aswell sometimes this was just my preference - something you
could do though is replace the knife with a shuriken pistol if you have one on hand.
Once you have the Farseer model you'll notice the head comes seperate from the body, this is a big bonus as it means you dont have to try and remove it from the body.
I started by clipping off all the little sprues and making sure there were no mold lines and then began removing elements that Idranel doesn't have such as the minicloak
thing on the waist and the little iconography on the torso using a modelling knife (you will probably find it easier and better if you use a hobby tool or small file as this can be quite dangerous and tricky work), I made a little diagram to better illustrate.

You should end up with something the resembles this, with whats left of the upper left (technically right) arm.

Once all thats done break out the green stuff, In regards to the head all I can do is refer you to page 14 to 17 of this sculpting guide as this is what I used.
http://www.miez.nl/putty-n-paint/tutes/sculpting_tut01.pdf
Once the head is sculpted and left to cure (harden) for a few hours I made the ears by making little balls of the same size and stuck them on the side then proceeded to
poke them with a cocktail stick/pin till they looked right.
Once that was done and left to cure again I added her Icon I suppose youd call it on the back of her head by first sticking a semi-circle of greenstuff around the lower back of her head with a smaller piece conecting it across her chin and then took a piece of greenstuff, flattened it then cut out the shape of the Icon and proceeded to stick it on.
I then made the hair by taking small squares of green stuff and sticking them on her head then shaping it to the desired effect then sewing them together by sliding the edges with a cocktail stick then smoothing them off with the ball end of my pin, after which I took a small ball of greenstuff and flatten it then stuck it to form the hair band, then took another ball of similar size and stuck it on top of the hairband to form her hairknot.

Onto the model, make a green stuff tabard that hangs below the inverted triangle, I did this by cutting a rectangle of the appropriate size then cut a triangle out of the top
and then stuck it on so the points of the tabard go at either side of the inverted triangle on the model.
Once you've done that take the 2 arms and add smooth arm braces (the armour from between the elbow to the hand) do this by taking 2 rectangles of green stuff of the same size then wrap them around the lower arm, cut away the green stuff obscuring the gems.
After that I proceed onto the spear and hands, I removed the spear end from the warlock as the shaft is fairly molded into his body, I then made a shaft by taking a cocktail stick and cut off the pointed ends and then proceeded to stick the shaft and spear point together (if glue doesn't hold do what I did and take some green stuff and wrap it around the join.)
For the hands take rectangles of green stuff and half wrap them around the spear shaft, put this onto the model to see where they should go.
Then add a thumb by taking a small amount of green stuff and stick it on the side of the greenstuff rectangle on the spear and shape it with a shaping tool or in my case a cocktail stick, make the fingers by pushing 3 indents with a pin into the rectangle of greenstuff then round the ends to look like finger tips.
Once thats done add the gems by making little balls and attaching them where needed, add the triangle icon she has dangling on her belt by cutting a triangle of green stuff and poking a hole through the middle then manipulate the corners of the hole to look like an inner triangle.
Add the extra belt by cutting a strip of green stuff and attaching above the other.
The model should be pretty much done now, attach the head and get painting .
Apologise to anyone that thinks this tutorial isn't helpful enough as it was my first time doing a conversion.

Nicely done.

Her head looks a little awkward, like it's sitting a little off on her neck... but that might just be the angle of the pic. Nice conversion and a cracking paintjob, though.

Yeah I get what your saying, I think the head is actually the right scale but coupled with her hair it looks bigger, also I think the ears are probably a tad to big but hey
live and learn .
