Not all humans are part of the Imperium, so that's a pretty flawed definition.

Xeno- is a prefix based on the Greek word "Xenos", meaning stranger. In biology, it is often used to designate species-difference, such as xenotransplantation (transplantation between organisms of different species). In science fiction it has been used to refer to extraterrestrial life.

In 40K, Xenos are non-humans.

I suppose you're right. But if they aren't part of the Imperium, they need to be set on fire just as badly as all those aliens do. They're just begging for it.

Would a mutant be included as a xeno. Because in a sense, it is a non human.

Only if he was mistaken for one. Xeno, or alien is reserved for life forms that are not originating from earth originally. (But lets not start wondering why Grox are not called xenoforms, that would go too far :-D)

The violators of the Emperor's law must be punished… how dare they question His will, His judgement… if their deeds go unchecked then chaos will surely rein… I have no choice but to sentence the offenders to death, effective immediately and without appeal… you have your orders gentlemen, may the Emperor's blessing go with you.

Then in that case, humans on other planets, would they be xenos?
Because, technically, they did not originate from earth.

Unless they sprang out the ground by magic, their ancestors were from Holy Terra.

Ahh, but whatabout abhumans, theyre DNA is so mucked up that surely they cant be technically described as human anymore.

You cant say ogryns are human, cos theyre not.

No-one has ever called Ogryns human.

They are Ab-human. That is, they USED to be human.

A Xenos is something that has never been and never will be human.

Ab-humans can be tolerated, albeit scorned. Xenos must be purged.

Ahhh right. Just thinking then, when does an abhuman cease and the xenos start? I mean, say in a couple of thousand/million years, ogryns have evolved so apart from the standard human frame, that they no longer resemble their ancestors. Would they still be classified as abhuman, or xenos?

As soon as the Records of them being of human origin are lost and Magi Biologis* couldn't confirm their human ancestry anymore, they might be classed as Xenos. But that would require an amount of mutation that would make that point moot anyway (most probably nothing short of full on chaos mutation, courtesy of Tzeench himself).

*Is that the correct plural of Magos Biologis? Never really sure with GW pig latin / pig greek.
