Had this out with a mate today, do the cover ignoring shots from a TFC ignore KFF?

I thought yes, as does a flamer or template weapon, but he said it counts as "obscured" and not a cover save.

Whats the crack?

Oh and another one, is the TFC an artillery unit so i can toss the blasts anywhere within range, or does it need true line of sight to fire at anything?

Wrong YMDC mate.

the ignore cover shot does indeed ignore KFF cover saves.

You still need LOS, its just a blast weapon, not a barrage weapon.

Since the save you take from being obscured is a "cover save" I don't know what your opponent was even talking about.

It says cover for troops obscure for vehicles. It ignores it, but looks like they got a little mixed up.

Obscured grants a cover save.

So the TFC ignores the cover save granted from being obscured - otherwise what sort of save was your friend taking?

WHile the TFC is an Artillery piece, it is not Barrage and therefore needs LOS to shoot a target.
