So I'm trying to get flesh similar to that of hive flee leviathan...

According to this tutorial in step 2 it says to wash with warlock purple. If I'm not mistaken warlock purple is an actual paint isn't it? I'm currently out so I tried using a purple ink to replicate the effect (I watered it down to about 50:50). Needless to say it didn't work out great.

Here is the tutorial: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=cat180003&categoryId=400031§ion=&aId=4900028a

I guess I have a couple questions:

Do you wash the entire model or just where you want the "wash" to occur?

And is warlock purple an normal paint? If so how do they get that effect down in the recesses?

Thanks

1: The new purple wash paint will work fine for this.

2: Just wash the area needed. Afterwards you can clean up any areas it has gone on.

3: it is a basic paint, so will need to be watered down.
Ive found GW paints to be inconsistant with pigment, so mix it 30/70 (water/paint) to start with, then add more water as needed, using a test model to try it on.
