Most teams in the MLB are about 60 games into their season- over a third of the way done.

As it stands, the powerhouses of the game are located primarily in the American League East division, with the Rays, Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays all with records better than more than half the rest of the league combined.

The Minnesota Twins have had a stellar year in the AL Central, following behind team leader Justin Morneau and a respectable pitching staff.

The AL West is dominated by the suprising Rangers followed by the perennial Angels and A's.

The National League East is kinda in the same situation as the AL East as all teams here are tightly packed in the race for the pennant (Braves, Mets, Phillies, Marlins, Nationals all are within 6 games of each other).

In the NL Central, the Reds and Cardinals are on top, with the Reds in the top five of most offensive categories imgainable (their pitching kinda sucks).

The NL West is also hotly contested between the Padres, Dodgers, Giants, and Rockies.

Who do you think will be the last team standing at the end of the baseball postseason?

I think that although they've suffered a minor setback in drawing 1-1 with the USA, England have Gareth Barry returning to add some steel to the midfield, and still have the class to progress further in the competition.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

You know what, I question the relevance of this topic to me due to the questionable popularity of Baseball in the UK and therefore feel the need to put this here.

Thank you.

He wars on Death, for lives; not men, for flags.

Mn will be in the playoffs and then choke.

Like they do every year. Mn teams are good at that. Get to playoffs and choke. Vikings, Twolves, Wild and Twins could all have won championship games back to back for years but can never do it.

Though to be fair NO played dirty against Vikings last year in conferance game.

Would you like to discuss cricket then, as baseball is a sport derivative of it?

I'd rather discuss rounders, since it is baseball but with more women and less stupid uniforms and self importance

I'm going to have to go with the Red Sox to win it all.

If not, I'll just settle for the Yankees not winning.

Yankees all the way on this one, Joe Girardi's use of the DH spot to give a member of the bating line up an extra day off may break up the heavy hitting line up alittle bit now but should pay dividends in the future.

Are the Pittsburgh Pirates mathematically eliminated from the playoffs yet?

Let me know when Mario Lemieux buys the Pirates, and I'll go back to being mildly interested in MLB.

Diligently behind a rifle...

I think St Louis can win it all if they could ever get their offense on track. Their top two pitchers are a combined 17-3, just not scoring as much as they seem like they usually do.

Fixed it for you.

But I see the Brewers winning the world series, not because I believe in them, but because I demand it to be so.

I dunno, I think that Germany's looking really good, especially since they've practiced with the ball for about a year now.

England and Spain are looking piss-poor and though they may make it out of their groups, they're not going to go very far.

I'll give it to the Netherlands even though I still am rooting for Spain.

The Brewers have not really had a good season in a very long time, so I doubt they will be good again this year.

The Red Sox have actually been playing well lately, so they should make it out of their division, perhaps into the Wild Card. Agreed that the Diamondbacks are in the crapper.

And I concede the Yankees are great, but I do not root for the Diamondbacks.
