How balanced against each other if at all do people think a starting Necromunda gang and a starting Gorka Morka gang would be?

I was thinking it would be fun to play such a hybrid as part of the 40k campaign I have been running with my sons which is focused on the battle for an Imperial city between Orks and the Imperium.

If the two could be mixed it would allow or a more detailed representation of this conflict (and some cool skirmish games and all the fun of progressing models that is so great about Necromunda, etc.) with my sons starting out with raw IG squads (Necro gangs) and me playing an aspiring mob of orks, etc.

Thoughts?

Either the old Necromunda mag or the GorkaMorka one can't remember which one, that had rules for using Necromunda gangs in GorkaMorka. I sure I've seen them online, could be worth a search.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I play Necromunda with all my 40k figs...mainly my guard...its fun...if you really need a compleate rule book and can not find the 2nd edition try finding a copy of the old Rouge Trader its about the same and has better fluff and gear.

There were some stats in a necromunda edition that covered some of the races as noted above.

Check out Death squads as this project covers a lot of what is being discussed.

The kids at the library were making up their own games based on Necro but with IG and Eldar iirc
Didn't realise there was a transpostion with 2nd ed, which we may have some books for.

This was a couple of months back and I think I checked out the Death Squads
(please forgive poor memory Da Bank, et al, and I may need to pick your brains at some point guys)

They have decided to run a WHFB campaign now!

When I first tried necro, ( And i think when darkvoidof40k did aswell) me and my mate used the miniatures we had. Whats more, lots of people don'e go 'mainstream' with their gangs; I for one have a kroot kindred as counts as escher.

Incidently, space marine in necro = terrifying. Just sayin' if you balance the rules out to emulate the stats one would have...

/shudder.

That'd be Gorkamunda, published in Gorkamorka Gubbinz issue 1 on page 43.

A friend of mine took part in a joint Necro-40K campaign in order to utilise a gang with various skills on the battlefield. I never took part in said, but I'm not fond of the idea, or at least in that fashion. That's an idea for a squad VS gang fight using Necro/2nd ed rules at a skirmish level. It's too much to have an individually-skilled unit in a battle. I mean, in 3rd edition the Last Chancers individual rules were vetoed if you were to field them in a full game.

Chicago-Land.

Here is a link to the old rules. It is a download but it is a PDF of the hardcover Necromunda book with the Rulebook, Sourcebook, and Outlanders supplement.

Necromunda is my favorite game.

To the OP (many years ago) yes you can!
It looks better with your own gang, but guardsmen or other minis with numbers on the bases works fine.

I actually have this thing that lets you play with all the 40k factions. Except Tyranids, cause they suck.
