I think the paint jobs and poor lighting conditions in the photos are letting them down.
I got my hands on the only Kurt Helborg mini in Australia at a tournament on the weekend and he is one huge chunk of metal. The bits fit well but due to the way he's joined conversions will be hard for beginners.
The state troops don't seem to fit the 'dark gothic of the 41st millenium' that the WHFB empire pics in the new rulebooks has lept to. The hand guns do look huge BUT they still have infinite variety over the 6th ed ones (personally I liked the 5th ed guns that were metal add ons to the empire state troop plastics, where the barrel wasn't as wida a the firere's head. The feathers are a bit on the large side but hopefully will look better painted and the giant faethers seems to be the running theme.
After seeing many of the changes to come in the new empire book and playing against them on the weekend, bad minis or not there are going to be alot of sales.

Shouldn't the human empire be all spit and polish, commerce and trade? Not uber militant THERE IS NO HOPE?!?! Maybe the change is due to the war? A shift in the politics?

So there are new Empire models. Meanwhile what was wrong with the old ones, exactly? It's amazing to me that this company sells basically the same models over and over and over again. Maybe the change is due to the war? A shift in the politics? You're kidding ... right?

I think he meant the Storm of Chaos war, Bugs, in that a populace faced with certain death whether due to famine, war or other horrific societal upheaval would experience a religious resurgence, which in the case of WHFB Empire includes the use of bones and other pagan fooferaw. I think. Don't hold me to it.

Sounds feasable to me, tbh. Major war just happened, and now we're in the "wake" for this edition. Besides, don't like the heads? Plenty of heads from other human armies to swap with! Other than that I like them on the whole.
