All Khorne infantry generally spends alot of time running after transports and vehicles they cannot hurt :-)

Now Black Legion with Khornate daemons and maybe bikers (they don't run like idiots) is very nasty, as they can do Statured DP/Bloodthirster combo while still peppering you with las/plas.

Of course, Khorne may be nastier now that apparently they and Stature Princes can Infiltrate....

My list (considering that player skill is equal):

1. Godzilla Nids
2. Deepstriking Loyalist SM (Lysanderwing, Drop Pods)
3. Chaos
4. Mech. Tau
5. Eldar
6. Shooty Marines
7. Sisters of Battle
8. Imperial Gaurd
9. Necrons
10. Dark Eldar

Godzilla Nids immediately are the top player. Essentially it is an army with the fewest drawbacks. A Carnifex will operate at 100% effeciency unitl you remove it from the table. They benefit from cover better than a vehicle and statistically take more shots to take them down. There only real weekness is the lack of modility, however because they can effectively ignor terrain (what where the designers thinking giving Monstrous Creatures move through cover) this is only a minor drawback. I have yet to see a competitvely played Godzilla List be beat except by another Godzilla list (though I have come close a few times with my Word Bearers).

Deepstrikeing SM are number too, because their codex essentially turned a mission special rule into a bankable tactic. All Deepstriking SM are automatically up because they are deploying in direct reation to your moves, and in the case of Drop Pods bringing terrain with them. Their main weekness is that usually the things that are Deepstriking can be handled by any decent list equiped to deal with a MEQ's.

Chaos takes number three because of the sheer flexibility of the list. You can play shooty just as well as you can play assaulty. There major drawback is that they can be expensive and Deamon Summoning is too random to count on. I don't care what anybody thinks but Deamon Summoning is not broken. Any good opponent will nutralize your Icons as much as possble until you Deamons show up and you have a 33% change of your Deamons scattering in the wron direction. However, they are one of the most competitve lists out there.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

Where'd you hear that?  Nothing's changed that I know of.

It's the folks who state by RAW, the Infiltrate explanation in the Chaos Codex is completely superceded by the main rulebook. By their reasoning, the limitations for who can not take Infiltrate is no longer in effect.

I've not run into many folks who go by RAW on this instance, so you should definitely check with your local area before trying to pull this one.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

It's also depends on which RAW argument you favour: new-trumps-old; or specific-trumps-general.

Players who think Stature Princes can infiltrate state the former and ignore the latter.

And Therion-, thank goodness there's someone else out there who's realised Escalation doesn't hurt Tyranids as bad as it is often made out to do. I really get fed up with all the whining about Escalation, I really do.

Ironically, they do. So do cheats.

Of course escalation hurts Tyranids. They would much rather play the game without it. However it doesn't mean they automatically lose, as they are a powerful army that can overcome a handicap and win. The Helsinki Fanatic in 3 weeks has 3 or 4 escalation games out of 6 simply because the tournament organisers want to make it harder for Tyranids to win, so it will be interesting to see what the results turn out to be. The Iron Warriors will of course win it, but if Tyranids can still make it into top 5 it'll prove something.

Well, as Ed Maule once famously said: "Therion's from Finland, where comp does not exist. Where he's from the trash we're forced to field for a tournament would lose to a 12 year old." - bigchris1313
