Do you ever get the feeling that this is going to be a codex release that people who don't play the army are going to be happier with the new book than people who do play the army?

Well if it's anything like the Eldar codex, they'll probably nerf stuff like summoning and favored numbers but leave in the Siren Prince.

My previous prediction is that Siren and daemon summoning will be nerfed, bringing various parts of Chaos into line with the rest of 40k.

Then Dreadclaw drop pods will be an option. With assault ramps.

The Carnosaur is a gorgeous model.

Most of the GW sculptors have hits and misses. Some in different ratios. It doesn't make sense to judge the product based on the sculptor until you've seen the actual model.

Youre right, but judging by certain peoples track record for producing utter gak, it could be safe to assume that nearly everything that Morely touches turns to effluence.

God you people are bitter about models.

The only new models released recently that I can even remotely think of as "bad" would be the Chaos Possessed (which are admittedly, terrible). After that, everything else looked fine from what I can tell.

edit: Those are pretty bad alright.
But not as bad as those skarboys.

No worries just let Jervis write the new Chaos Codex and all will be well especially fluff wise. (Wink, wink) I personally do prefer plastic figs because of the ease of conversion work. Possesed do look like they are the escaped clowns from the circus. (Mayhaps they follow the laughing god).

Isn't Jervis the one who wrote the first 3rd ed Chaos codex? The godawful Chaos codex that didn't allow you to give your CSM marks of Chaos, so noise marines were just another Heavy Support choice while berserkers, plague marines, and Thousand Sons were just Elites? The Chaos codex that didn't include cult terminators? The Chaos codex in which all the daemons had the same stats, and CSM veterans were just regular CSM with +1 Ld, infiltrate, and 2 heavy weapons? Yeah real fluffy.

And when asked about it Jervis said something to the effect of "I don't really like Chaos so I just phoned this one in."

Yeah... don't let that guy near the new Chaos codex.

Hell, he shouldnt be allowed anywhere near 40K again.

He should have stayed in the specialist games area. We were all happier with him there, he wrote great rules for BFG. He is magic sometimes.

Wasn't that the same codex that gave the Demon Prince a Ballistic Skill of 0, and a possible shooting attack?

When asked about this impossibility, GW answered, "It never came up in play-testing."

Which must mean they simply never play-tested it at all because you need it in order to play.
