Sorry, I am not up on my DE tactics, what do night shields do?

Adds 6" to the distance between the firer and the target. So, given that Devourers are only 18", it'd be very, very hard to hunt down raiders with devourer-fexes; kill the big guns first, and then just keep dancing out of range of the rest of the 'nid guns.

Mi.

Honostly i would never even flinch at a nidzilla army. I cannot believe the above DE army did not win. I would have mounted everything for a third brightlance in every unit. And by the way webway portals ROCK.
The smaller the army the easier it is to beat is a good motto for DE.

@5thelement,

Honestly, I would have called you a cheater if you mounted the above warrior squads in raiders, since that is illegal. Only raider squads can buy raiders and they can only take one dark lance per squad. WWP's are awesome, I use them to keep the wyches and the lord safe until turn 2+. The warrior squads and ravagers provide enough firepower to keep the opponent pinned down until the wyches can come in and assault.

Before you underestimate the power of my Nidzilla list, I would like to point out that I am in 4th place in the GT circuit right now with that list, so it is not a pushover by any means.

Darrian, noone is questioning your army and yes you do have many valid points about the Big Bug list vs the Dark Eldar but the way I see it is vs opponents of equal skill and equal luck, it is a 50/50 chance for either army to win.

Fact: DE have many S8 AP2 weapons to counter multuple wounds and +2sv
Fact: 18" is No Man's land for a DE army vs a big bug army
Fact: The DE's main advantage will be the speed and HtH
Fact: Big Bugs main advantage will be sticking together and firepower

Given the GT environment of sparse blocking terrain but plenty of craters, a GT board will be at the advantage of the Big Bugs.

The Dark Eldar can negate most of the advantages of high toughness with agonizers, Lances, blasters, disentegrators but their main disadvantage is someone simply shooting them.

The Big Bugs have mobile weapons that cant be knocked out without dedicating 8-9 shots if the said big bug is in cover. Their biggest disadvantage is getting assaulted by multiple wych squads and an archon looking for blood.

In the end it comes down to a fast offensive army vs a tough offensive army. Terrain will play a major factor for both sides and if Meotic spores are allowed then the Big Bug player has won.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

I swear by nightshields for my DE, especially against marine armies that like to field lots of plasma and heavy bolters. The marines really never get a chance to use them on the DE since my raiders and ravagers can pretty much dance around them and cut them into lil' pieces at will.

Darrian: Do you live near Utah? If so I'd like a crack at the bugs sometime, as family life permits,  just to see first hand how my list would do against yours. I might get smoked, but it sounds like a learning opportunity. We can post our lists here before the match and report what works and what doesn't after, if we ever get a game together.
