Posted By Toreador on 10/10/2007 3:22 PM Go ahead, bring those 15 falcons. How many Autocannon IG Heavy Weapon sharp shooter platoons backed up with a defense laser, hellhounds, thud guns (I don't care if I can't shoot at harlequins, I shoot enough at falcons, I WILL deviate) and other assorted nasties. For about half what those falcons and harlequins cost, I can field 50 sharpshooting autocannons and 9 hellhounds. Throw in a few conscript squads or deep striking units and I am set. Bring em! The nice thing about apoc is, no matter what you can match what cheese he throws at you with your own. Yup - 15 falcons and 90 harlies, meet 60 odd tornados. Without a FoC pretty much anything can be countered, just need to fork out for the models.

My thought was 4,000 Ork Boyz in the typical 20,000 point~ish match-up.
Of course a GW hard case carries just over 100 models, so I'd be taking 40 of them to gaming night, so maybe not the best idea.

I think that that point you just bring bags of orks, and dump them on the table. Same with hormagaunts!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. |

I'm planning to go back to my nids after I get some guard stuff finished up. For my gaunts, I'm gonna go the magnetic base route and give em all sheet metal movement trays. I have 80 something guants now.. 2 boxes should give me the gaunt formation, and 1 more zoanthrope is all I need for the HQ one too

I was looking at the link from the troops page from the Apoc site and I saw this orky picture. Could those be possible kit Battlewagons? or just the new trukks? us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/apocalypse/gaming/troops/1.htm Sounds like a lot of fun. Since I moved north from southern california I have been in wargaming withdrawals, but I finally found a small group who plays here, so my thirst for 40k is slaked. For now.

Legion of the Damned?
Very cool, but wow--I haven't been paying attention.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias |

Wow. I mean, the vindicare one is kinda 'meh', and it's too bad there are no death-cultists (though you could field 9 if you really wanted to already), but the Culexus and Callidus are just...Sweet Christmas. And while I don't want to buy a whole bunch of Callidus assasins, I kinda want to convert some up...
I'm starting to feel a little better about this whole thing.
Incidentally: anyone notice on the GWUS downloads page they didn't automatically send you to a 'don't violate our copyright' page before you got to the .pdf. Is that new?

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.
I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil |
