In both rounds we had ties that required being broken by various means. Because not all players tracked their victory points, the 3,000 point army in our regional was decided by a three-way roll off. The missions should've been designed to prevent ties.

This was the fault of the players and T.O., not G.W. I ran the Regional Semi-final here in Phoenix, and we didn't have any problems making sure all our players knew to tally V.P.'s at the end of every mission.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

In Cleveland TN I made it in 3rd place with Necrons.

Round one opponent; Tau with 2 railgun hammerheads and 3 broadsides with 6 shield drones. He made the mistake of deploying his broadsides in plain sight 2 inches from the deployment line and placing his shield drones 2 inches behind his suits. I deployed three destroyer squads on my table edge, won the first turn roll, moved them up 3 inches or so and shot the broadsides to death. Turn two shot the railgun off one hammerhead, deep stuck all three of my monoliths and never looked back. Massacre for me.

Round two was Guard with 190 models. He went first and it was a shooting match the rest of the game. We drew and he got 3 battle points to my one. Note: I might have been playing another Tau opponent with 23 points from round one, but when he saw my score he "remembered" a battle point he got incorrectly. Pretty sly...

Round three, I was in fifth place and I needed my buddy in first to put the smack down on second place. No such luck, they drew and still had the points to take first and second easily. So I needed to do better by at least three points than 3rd and 4th place.

My opponent was playing Ravenwing and got first turn. He was not a strong player and had all sorts of rules wrong. Turns out he won in Chattanooga by being the only one to show up. Anyhow, he tried to shoot bike guns and pistols both at me, insisted that the bikes could assault 12", and other silly stuff. The judge ended up camping at our table I had to correct so much. Got a major victory with three bonus points for 20 total.

Players 3 and 4 went minor victory/loss and I snuck in.

I'll see you guys in Baltimore, along with my buddy and his Marines.

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
