How do the Tau Remora and Piranha TX-42 compare to their trial rules? I might get 'em since the models are so fun and the Remora and TX-42 are actual *gasp* fast attack choices for Tau.

This would have been a perfect time for Forgeworld to say that their droppods models are the ones wanted by the playerbase and just refer them to the standard codex rules, but instead they were apparently so attached to their in house (bizarre) rules that they couldn't let them go.

Unless they're planning on changing the GW droppod rules to match the flyer rules. It seems to me that they eventually have to settle on one or the other, and this might be an indication of what's to come. Or they were rushed to get the book out and didn't take the time to make a decisive change.

Also, I wouldn't call it a house rule. Doesn't it predate GW's droppod deep strike version?

Almost entirely unchanged (if you ignore the little, and obvious, mistake that lists the Remora as having 3 structure points :S ). They even mention their options as Fast Attack (still 1-2 for one choice for the Remora) in a regular 40k game.

However, the Search And Destroy datafax gives them (and the Piranhas) the Scout universal special rule.

Flyers on the table at turn 1. How sweet it is...
