Sorry I didn't realize the baneblade is included. That actually is almost reasonable pricing.

"Until they realize that standard Baneblades are probably more dangerous to their titans."

I like Shadowswords. Yeah, its a smaller pie plate but its got a better range a higher BS and D strength allows you to cause an automatic penatrating hit on vehicles even if its a partial hit and add +1 to your roll on the damage chart and ignores cover. On non vehicle targets it auto wounds with no cover saved allowed and inflicts instant death. All for 50 points less than a baneblade.

Does it auto kill Titans? No, but neither does a baneblade. If they made a model that destroys your warlord or warhound with one shot at 10' away at half or even a fourth of the points cost of a Titan, then why have one?

At engagement distance, a full-load Baneblade has 2 Ordnance and 2 Lascannons. That's pretty good.

I agree Baneblades are great. At 24" (only 8 feet closer) they get three more shots, but you still have to roll to hit with a BS3 on those lascannons and roll to score a penetrating hit. If the target is partially in cover you are stuck with a glancing hit. We play lots of city fight scenarios where cover becomes an issue. If you are lucky with the dice rolls and don't scatter you can drop a Titan with one salvo. One tank one Titan beautiful. I'm just saying I like the Shadowsword. If you don't then don't buy one.
