30mm (which more closely matches GW minis nowadays) is 1:61.
GW vehicles are roughly 1:48

Yes but 1:73 != 1:61 != 1:48.
Thats why when people "true scale" marines they end up quite a bit larger. GW doesn't know what scale is, and to make the over sized hands and heads to scale with the body you need to lengthen the limbs and widen the torso (among other things).
If you look at a land raider there is no possible way a driver or gunner could fit in there (as the GW cut away drawings show).
