For years the editor in chief at Marvel comics has been bitching and moaning that he wanted to get rid of Spider-Man's marriage to Mary Jane.

But he didn't want them to divorce cause that would be bad for Spidey's image.

So he has Spidey make a deal with the devil to erase everyone's memory of the marriage.

Cause, y'know, Satanism is better than divorce any day.

here in germany we're about a 3/4 year behind on comic releases, and I still can't believe what I keep hearing about this. I think the stories JMS wrote were all exclelent since he started his run 3 or 4 years ago.

That's funny... And I never noticed it either.

Slightly OT, there is a brilliant photo history book which shows pictures of Stalin and his pals and how they were airbrushed over the years to remove the characters who had been purged.

It's interesting to see their background develop. Frankly though, I'm glad that 2nd Ed retconned a lot of this stuff and established most of what we have now.
