Mommy, Daddy, why are you yelling? Do you not love us anymore?

Back on-topic, Yriel rocks when attached to a squad that has an invulnerable save in CC, no USRs for Yriel to screw up by being attached, and another powerweapon (preferably right beside Yriel) to up the number of killzone-clearing high-initiative attacks. This is clearly Dire Avengers with PW/SS. Yriel and Dire Avengers go together like Harlies and Falcons or peanut butter and jelly. Under Fortune, the whole squad is twice as resilient, and Yriel's save gets really badass.

He can also do alright with Harlies, but can't join the squad or he'll screw up their Hit & Run. Note that he _could_ H&R with Spears (being an Autarch), but that would be an odd combo.

That's not "a few situations". It's very achievable, and an optimal combat build.

Heck, I think I've just found a replacement for my jetbike Autarch when I strip Spears out of my army in favor of more troops in 5th. Going to give this a try next few games, will report back.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Yriel is pretty nifty, he can do a lot of damage as long as he is used right. I always used him wrong and got him killed in dumb ways but when you get him to where you want him via wave serpent or just supporting vulnerable parts of your army, he is gold.

I recently started using an Avatar and that is on par with Yriel so I'd maybe use an avatar instead. For one, he is scoring and harder to hit. A regular terminator squad or space marine squad will be hard pressed to even hurt the avatar in close combat. I play footslogging iyanden so, the avatar adds a bit moer utility at times, if fortuned wraithguard were not so awesome I might consider using yriel and an avatar!

Oh, and Blackmoor, I played you in the 'ard boys tournament and didn't see you use yriel, was it the second round you tried him out or something?

You are so right Mortetvie, the Avatar is so good! I can't imagine playing my footslogging Eldar without him (Eldrad too). I faced your army with Yriel, the Avatar will be far stronger.

I don't recall Blackmoor ever using Yriel. Must be a Florida thing.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I used him in the first round of the 'Ardboyz.

I did play Mortetvie in that round, and I don't remember using him either. I know I used Eldrad, and I know I did not use the Avatar. It is possible that I forgot him and played without him?

I remember using him in the game with your friend with the destroyer necrons. My fire dragons shot up his Deciever, and Y'riel kept assaulting the Deciever, and he would just leave combat with him.

Hmm, maybe you did use him! I think you assaulted my termiantor squad with him and he got chainfisted or something, you put him in a harlequin squad right?

Anyway, if I take a lot of footslogging wraithguard and such, avatar is what I'd end up taking. If I take a lot of guys in transports and such, I might as well take yriel and put him in one. WHY oh WHY are we limited to only 2 hq choices =(.

Avatar _and_ footslogging Wraithguard? Hmmm. i dunno about that. Hope you have a lot of other infantry nearby to reap the benefits of all that hard protection.
