Painting horribly interrupted by sick baby, blown water heater (and accompanied flood in the basement) and patching part of the roof, BUT the English MG team and officer are done, and the prussians are 85% done.

EDIT 3/10/08: Prussians are done. Cavewomen are cleaned/based/assembled. Went assemble the Venators but they were mispacked . So I put together what I could (which would be 5 of them), wrote to the boys at PP, and am going to figure out what I'm painting instead/addition. I've got a war ape, orc berzerker and hobgoblin I could do for Chainmail; maybe I'll do that...

Nah, most of it is assembled, but I am going through some major reorganizing at work so my time is getting quite thin.

sad that it may take me two friggin weeks to finish assembling a mere 20ish models.

I'll have to take photos sometime, but lookie here:

10 Idrians
1 Mariner
1 Buccaneer
1 Broadsides Bart

1 secret project for painting comp (it's not much better
than the other stuff. It just fits the competition's theme).

I need to do some touch ups on Broadsides Bart (
somehow I missed the trim on part of his uniform), highlight
the bases on the Idrians, and wait for the friggin' snow
to stop falling so I can spray coat my stuff.

edit: Almost forgot that I finished painting my Wolf Riders,
the Anima Tactics figure, temple flameguard and 4 Haqqislam
models (these were all mostly done before, I just finished them
this week).

syr8766 wrote:Beware the vows of March! So let's have 'em--what are your painting commitments?

For me it'll be the following:
1. Paint the 11 remaining England Invaded figs (already based and primed) DONE!
2. Clean, base, and prime 5 (actually 4) Copplestone Castings Cavewomen DONE!
3. Clean, base and prime a box of Skorne Venators (6?) Primed. Awaiting Leader...
4. Clean, prime and paint my new Martian flying boat UNTOUCHED
5. Chainmail Drazen's Horde figs (Orc Berzerker, Hobgoblin & War Ape) DONE!
6. Chainmail Drow DONE!

So I'm up to 19 figs, but not exactly what I'd planned. I'll try to get to the boat this week. I've also got 3 Artizan Cowboys I just picked up, so I can bang those out too, but I'm waiting on the Front Desk at PP to get me my leader before I progress on my Venators. Blah. I'd really like to get 'em done this week and not mothball that project, especially since it's just them and a bronzeback keeping my Skorne from Fully Painted.

maybe get a start on painting 10 IG jetbike roughriders. (Painting bikes and riders separately)

Finish magneting and converting Flyrant.

So I've cleared 17 figs off my painting table (yay!) The 4 Deathguard models will hopefully get done this week.

But I joined a Warmachine League at my FLGS, and since there was already a Menoth player in the 7-player league, I decided to go with Cryx (the only other force I have at 500 pts). Which is why I've started painting up Skarre over the others.

And, I've assembled, primed and started painting:

Harrower
Helldiver
Stalker

I had to rod-mount the Harrower and Stalker, as their spindly little legs didn't adhere too well to the base (and since I glued their legs on before trying to put them on the base, not all of their legs would contact anyways - oops. Possibly because the Stalker's legs are backwards to what they're supposed to be in the photo in the book - double oops. Oh well, it looks good now so whatever.).

And after my very successful first league day (if I do say so myself), I was inspired to drop $50 on a box of:

3 Soulhunter cavalry ASSEMBLED, GAP-FILLED (GS)
They are really awesome (x10) looking models.

I havent got much of anything done since the first part of the month. Came in like a tasmanian devil, and ended this month with a whimper.

The only thing that I have achieved since my last update was to clean the mold lines off of 10 blighted archers and their UA...

the assembly count completed for march:

  • 1 Vayle warlock

  • Saeryn proxy warlock (W. Klocke reaper mini)

  • 5 Raptors Light calvary

  • 1 SeraphLight warbeast

  • 2 Nephilim Light warbeast

  • 2 Forsaken solos

  • 5 Incubi solos

  • 2 Shepherd solos

  • 1 Swamp gobbers Minions unit

  • 1 Totem hunter Minions solo

  • My secondary goal to atleast start painting any of this stuff wasnt realized, but real life, as always gets in the way.

    Perhaps April will be better.

Got some Artizan Cowboys done, making it to 22 figures. Skorne Venators, boat and thrade will have to be on April's list, due to technical difficulties. Ah, well, I'm keeping about my average per month...

    erm...well.... yeah, about that...

    Deff Choppas based
Pilot bits aquired, pilots in need of leg adjustments (gas tanks are wider than I realized)
Loota clean up hurts my soul, got 8 of 15 de-flashed and assembled
Biker Boss progress far ahead of expectations!

So I guess that puts me at "sort of, almost" for my march vows. Next month, I predict much smaller vows!

Horribly lit pic of what I did in March:

    Painted
    - 0 demon prince (and she's no longer part of the plan for 2k)
    - 0 dread (thanks to FW)
    - 0 land raider
    - 3 terminators
    - 1 biker lord

    Built
    - 1 slave troll

Could be worse! Now I have to decide what to do to make 2k CSM:

Soul destroyingly huge model that makes opponents salivate in anticipation of instagibbing it?

Or AV12 walkers that opponents sneeze at and kill without a second thought? Note the dread is missing replacement legs still, though he now has his missile launcher (which is actually sticky with mold release). Yeah the defiler is about 1/4 painted, spent a week doing the base colors on the legs and wanted to die.

And that dread is looking unfortunately tiny compared to ol' crabby there
